Vintage Green Cast Iron Shakti Belna Flatbread Paratha Roti Tortilla Dough Press For your consideration is an old Vintage green cast iron metal flatbread dough press. It is marked SHAKTI BELNA V NMW. From what we can gather. It appears to have been made in India for use in making a variety of flatbreads. The is made from cast metal. Believe it to be cast iron and the inside part is covered in a kind of white plastic laminate so the dough does not stick when it is pressed flat between the two pressure plates. It makes a kind of sticky sound when opening it, it appears to be a bit dirty and should be cleaned if you choose to do so. We will not clean it as we do not risk damaging any part of this with anything cleaning solvent, or even using just water. We'll leave the cleaning and/or use to the new owner. It's a cool looking piece. ... moreQuite heavy and has a good old appearance when sitting on the counter. The old bolt that holds the handle to the top is missing the nut, appears to have been missing for some time. It won't mind as long as you don't tip it over to the right and open and close it, but then again, you wouldn't do that anyway. This piece sits on four metal feet on the counter so if you didn't want to have it scratch. I'd suggest putting felt pads on it, or just not move it around. This is a really nice set of a Tortilla Warmer with two Dip or Condiment Dishes. They are in beautiful condition and are made of ceramic and clay with glazed paint. Lovely design on lid is just enough accent to make it stand out. Beautiful burnt red and beige colors. Perfect to go with any other mexican dishes you may have. Holds flour tortillas and keeps them warm as long as your meal lasts! Would be a great addition to any collection of mexican ware or would make a wonderful gift for someone who collects these type of dishes. Get them while you can because they are priced to go quickly!
