Founded in 2013, with over 40 years combined guiding experience with fishing and hunting, located in Ellensburg, WA, Backroads offers premiere fly fishing & gear fishing throughout Central & Eastern Washington Rivers. Backroads' “Home River”, Washington’s only Blue Ribbon Trout River, is the beautiful Yakima River located in Central Washington near the town of Ellensburg. The Yakima River provides year-round trout fishing for both the fly angler, as well as the gear fisherman. Backroads offers a new style of outfitting to the business bringing knowledge, experience, patience, and persistence to both, fly anglers and gear fisherman. My name is Bo Lybeck. I was born in Seattle, Wa. I grew up in the Yakima area my whole life and I am married & have a little girl. We also have a black lab named Hallie and she ... morewill usually be in the boat with me on guided trips. After high school I went to the College of Southern Idaho for one year. After being fish deprived in the desert I decided to make the move back to Washington. I ended up at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Wa. With 10 rivers being within a 35 mile radius of the school it was hard getting much work done. I bought a boat and started fishing, and it has been my job ever since. I love it, I love seeing smiles on the guests face when we get a fish to the net. It's not just a job when you're fishing. It's fun.
