Mechanical and Sheet metal is all very good to excellent. The only mention we see are some minor scratches on the fenders and the temp. gauge was replaced with a oem gauge. Everything else is 100% original and everything works 100% including all gauges and lights. It was painted at one time. I t does not have differential on it. It does have the 2 sets of rear wheel wts. and the front wt. set all as shown in the pictures and that all goes with it along with what appears to be the original top link. Has one set of Hydraulic remotes on back. Always been a local tractor and in fact it’s had two owners who were mechanics so always been well taken care of. Engine has never been touched and no major work has ever been done on it as per both owners. The owner now know the previous owners and two were mechanics as I said. No leaks. JOHN DEERE MODEL D OPERATORS INSTRUCTINS AND PARTS LIST ORIGINAL UNSTYLED 1936
Up for auction is an original operators manual for the Unstyled John Deere D antique tractor. The part number on the front cover is DIR.126-12-36 This is the instruction manual and parts list that came with the tractors back in the day. As a matter of fact on the front cover it says"This Instruction Book and Parts list applies to the tractor with which it was sent" The front cover is probably the worst page as far as condition goes on the whole manual. As you can see in the pictures it has some taped up areas. Spotting, a few tears and the one upper corner is missing. The back cover has one small piece missing and a tear. The inside pages are in real nice shape for a manual that is 77 years old. A few of the pages have some smudges probably from the owner thumbing through the book while he was working on his tractor. The front cover ... morealso has writing on the top which is a name and city, state. Looks like it says Frank Maxian or Mafian, Binghamton, NY. The rest is missing. Maybe you know him or his family. Maybe he was the original owner of the tractor this came with. Anyway the all the pages have that tan color to them like the old manuals had. It's not bright white like the newer or reproduction ones, this is the real McCoy. I used this many times for reference when I worked on my unstyled D but I sold that a couple years ago and no longer need the manual. It's a nice piece of history and would look great next to that D in your garage or barn or while showing the tractor. But like I said I used it for what it was intended for. It's a wealth of information if you're unfamiliar with your D and like to work on it yourself. It is written real clearly, it's very thorough and makes it easy to figure out any problems you might be having. This is a used mannual so no warranties or returns. 1948 John Deere Late Style Model "A" Tractor
Up for sale is a 1948 John Deere Model A tractor. It starts right.Up runs well with no smoke, and drives with no problems or unusual drivetrain noises. The engine was rebuilt with a different crack free block, new pistons, wrist pins, new bearings, and gaskets. The head was redone and valves ground. I'm guessing less than 50 hours on the rebuild.The generator was replaced with a GM alternator and works well. This later A has a distributor in top shape. It has a rock shaft and in addition to the factory outlets has another pair of late pioneer outlets. The sheet metal and front grills have dings and dents but were straightened as best as possible and repainted. Not perfect but very good. All the gauges work as well as all the lights including the work light and red light combination at the back. The tractor must have some sort of high ... morespeed rear as we can go over 20 mph with it. No problem on those tractor drives. It all looks factory so I'm not sure why. Both brakes work well and have even height. The rear tires are Firestone 12 x 38 at 50% but with heavy weather checking. The right rear has a boot as shown along with cuts and bruises. The rims look good at the valve stems but the left rear has some splitting as shown. The fronts are mismatched with the RF a 6.50 x 16 Firestone and the LF a 6.00 x 16 of unknown brand. Both are worn and weather checked. The tractor was used for light work with the tires this way with no issues so far. I see only one leak that reaches the floor under the pulley brake but its not a major issue. The seat cushions have been redone but not a professional job. Take a look at the pictures. The pto casting for the cover has a broken ear. Width is right at 82 inches for your trailer. I'm starting the bidding low with no reserve. It will sell here on E-Bay so bid with confidence. Very rare and superb original John Deere"Iron Clad" triple box farm wagon box that I believe was built in 1917. This listing also includes about 90% of the NOS wood parts required to build a heavy duty running gear suitable for this very special box. I also have the rear half of a regular track John Deere wood farm wagon running gear that is in good original ... morecondition that is included with this project but I have no wheels for that rear axle assembly. That rear axle assembly has all of the associated rear steel parts that would be useful in building a heavy duty running gear from the wheels and wood parts I have. Both the right front and right rear wheels are NOS International Harvester wheels that have the famous IHC round logo stenciled on them with black paint. Most farm wagon boxes are 38" wide but this box is 42" wide. Most farm wagon boxes are 10-1/2 feet long but this box is 13-1/2" long. This huge box is over 1/3 larger than the typical wood farm wagon box it. A good original John Deere seat is included but is not in as good of original condition as this box is. This seat still has some of it's original green with yellow accent paint on it and still has the original John Deere logo painted on the back of the back rest. I bought this project a few years ago from a friend in Oregon who found it in a barn there many years ago. This is a project that I have lost interest in and would like to get out of my shop. It is a 1940 Early Styled Model A with the 4 speed transmission. Serial number 488177. Everything in good condition. All parts included, plus some extras! I bought this tractor several years ago in Lufkin. TX. It was being used to mow. Runs and shifts good. One rear axle is a little loose. May be a bad bearing, and the rear axle seals are leaking. It has a flat back cover that I installed and I will also include the Powertrol unit. It needs a carb and magneto. I have all the other parts to put it back together. Plus some spares that I will include! I have disassembled, cleaned and bead blasted most of the parts, as you can see. 1938 Unstyled Model A John Deere Tractor, Serial Number 468,525, Western NC
Visually this tractor looks pretty good considering its age. The sheet metal is in good condition and the rubber looks nearly brand new. a couple years back I realized that water had gotten into the cylinders. I removed the head and had it checked out. There was no visual problem but through magnaflux we discovered a small crack, Dover Head in Greenville SC repaired the crack, installed new valve springs and surfaced the head. We found that the right cylinder has fairly deep pitting although we have been running that way before this and ever since it was repaired. The last time I went to start it, there was no spark, I believe this is due to moisture in the magneto, the magneto is old and probably needs a rebuild. The carburetor was rebuilt several years ago. I also have a large amount of extra gaskets. The only other issues that I am aware ... moreof is the bolt eye on the right brake drum is cracked. It has been that way since I have owned it but the brakes work just fine. The fuel tank had leaked some and I repaired it with epoxy several years ago which seems to have fixed the problem. I am willing to consider delivering it for.75 per mile round trip

He would routinely start it and maintain the tractor as you can see. It is in outstanding shape with a wonderful patina. When he runs the tractor, he will routinely shut the fuel off and run the fuel out. This gives you a good idea as to the care this tractor has received. This auction includes the tractor as shown. It also retains most of the original components and sheet metal which is also outstanding. This tractor appears to be completely stock and may have been restored or reconditioned years ago. Vintage tractors are truly an American icon and this is a beautiful original survivor for the age that runs and drives far better than expected. 1940 JOHN DEERE H - MODEL H HAND START ANTIQUE JD
1940 John Deere Model H tractor. Serial#H20397(Original serial# tag is on tractor) Tractor runs and drives fine in all 4 gears(3 forward + reverse) Brakes work. Hand start. No PTO. Specs for the John Deere H are available on the internet. This tractor was fully restored in the early 1980's and has recently been touched up(repainted. New decals, etc) It has been garage-kept and run occassionally since its original restoration. Carburetor was recently built. Oil, oil filter and spark plugs recently changed. All 4 tires hold air. Rear tires are Firestone Field and Road 9.5-32. They are filled with either water or calcium choride to add weight to the tractor. Pitting on the rear rims near the valve stems in places. Front tires are Firestone 4.00-15 tube-type tires. I had one tube recently replaced because the tire was leaking. All tires are ... morefairly weather checked but do hold air without leaking. Wico magneto(E-series I believe) This is not an impeccable, show-winningly restored tractor but it does look nice as seen in the pictures. Water temperature guage works correctly and engine warms up and stabilizes at about 180 degrees. Does not overheat. Other guage has condensation inside it and I'm not sure if it works. The fuel selector lever(That selects front tank, back tank, or fuel off) is present but I have never used it. It would need to be reconnected underneath the fuel tanks(one small bolt) to be used as it was originally. I just always use the larger tank and shut off the tractor by shutting it off using the valve on top of the sediment bowl or by choking it out. we accept Cash or Paypal. and if you have any questions feel free ask I'd be happy to answer them.
