Original owner. Purchased new in 2007. Never abused. Has Piano Black wood side panels. Unit looks new. This is dual mono block design with Class H power supply topology. 200 watts/channel at 8 ohms. Turned on one day a month ago and it popped a fuse for the right channel. Replaced fuse and it popped again. Don't know what the problem is and don't have the time to troubleshoot so I'm letting it go. The left channel still works fine. I've disconnected the power connector to the right channel so it does not pop the fuse. Was serviced in April of this year by Emotiva Service for right channel meter light being out. This is one of two Nakamichi PA-504 amps that were recently removed from the display wall of local stereo shop. This amp is gorgeous and is extremely well built. They just don't make them like this any more. One of my favorite home stereo ampliifiersn is the Nakamichi PA-7 and these amplfiers are definetly deigned with that level of build and sound quality in mind. Modern car amps can't even come close to the performance these units can achieve- less than 0.01% THD at full power! Kenwood KA-701 160W Vintage DC Power Amplifier Turntable Phono Input 1 DAY NR!!
This auction is for 1 DAY ONLY and features another classic amplifier from Kenwood. The Kenwood KA-701 was introduced in 1980 and was their third most powerful integrated amplifier in the series. The 701. While not the most powerful in the chain it was no slouch either when it came to features and raw vintage muscle. This amplifier delivers 80W of raw vintage per channel which is more than anyone who listens to music at sane levels will ever need. There's plenty of power and reserve to go around as well should the occasion to turn it wayyy up arrives. It's worth mentioning that by the time the KA-701 was released Kenwood was arleady exploiting the transistor, getting high slew rates from them as well as very low distortion thus the 701 has a bit"cleaner" sound, and lacks the weight of some of the earlier designs. The later ... moreKenwoods like the 701 have a lower noise floor, wider bandwidth, and higher damping factor, and control the speaker better than their early 70's counterparts. The 701 features a nice size power transformer coupled to 4 power output capacitors and a single cast aluminum heatsink running the width of the chassis. It's a High Speed DC amplifier by design and features inputs for Aux, Tuner, Phono1, Phono2, Tape1, and Tape2. This amplifier is 100% tested and is in excellent working condition, I have used it with speakers from JBL, IMF and Spendor with excellent results. If you are lookig for a great vintage integrated amplifier in the 80W per channel range and the Sansui 717, Marantz 1090 or Pioneer SA-9500 seem too far out of reach the KA-701 is definitely for you. Physical condition on this amplifier is very good, it does have some nicks along the face trim that I touched up and the paddle switch on the power button is not original but it looks nice, you probably would have never noticed if i didn't mention it. QSC AMPLIFIER Here is(1) used condition. QSC MX700 power amplifier, with Channel One non-functioning, but Channel Two works just fine. This was in the band's monitor amp rack, ans we turned the rack on one day for rehearsal, and nothing on Channel of this amp, don't know why. At one point, I replaced one of the dual banana binding posts connectors on the amp, but that was long ago, and that nevr gave us any trouble. The nice thing about this amp is it's only 12" deep so it fits shallow racks. As this is heavy. Shipping reflects that, but the opening bid is low. That's about it.
