Military radio Power unit WW11 that you will not find one better. I do not think that it has even been used. Actualy the canvas pouch has a 1952 date on it so it must be between wars. The pouch contents are in one of the pictures and I believe I was the first to open it. I can not find this on eBay and if you or I could I promise this is as good as it gets. The manual from the War Department has part of the first 3 pages missing but has 145 pages and all the info is there. Yamaha FB-01, FM Sound Generator, Vintage Unit
The FB-01 is cool little four op FM synth module introduced by primarily as a means of supplying a multitimbral FM synth for background sequencing. The idea is that you use your DX7II as your main with the FB-01 filling in the background parts. The FB-01 was also used by computer game designers as a way to add better sound quality to computer games of the time(same concept with the Roland MT-32) Several of the Sierra adventure games support the Yamaha FB-01 with a special driver built directly into the games. The little FB-01 has gone through several bouts of being cool and then being considered seriously un-cool. Our position here at HOS has always been that of course a TX81Z will do most things better than an FB-01. But that does not mean that the FB-01 cannot have a place in your mix. Plus the red LCD has always been cool. For some reason ... moreit is called the FB-01/u in the owner's manual. It is unclear what the"u" was suppose to indicate. The FB-01 is basically the synth module version of the Yamaha DX21 but with added eight part multitimbral capabilities. There was a special FB-01 rack mount kit available separately from Yamaha at the time of production. But it is was rare even then. The Yamaha CMX1 music computer has the equivalent of an FB-01 built right in. The IBM Music Feature card(1987) for IBM personal computers is basically a Yamaha FB-01 on a ISA card. The FB-01 actually has some FM synth settings that no others had at the time. Such as the ability to alter the attack rate based on key velocity and the operator adjust property(an operator output override setting) Neither of these parameters existed in any other Yamaha FM synth prior to the SY77. Synth Type/ Synthesis Branding, four operator FM synthesis with eight algorithms(only sine wave carriers) FM Chip, OPP(YM2164) Patches, 240 plus 96 in for user memory, Low Frequency Oscillator, one LFO, Filter, none. Take the old conventions: of in on the right. Out on the left, battery connected when input plug is in place, use this pedal before that one for a certain sound, reverse for another, positive ground, negative ground, pedal switching systems. we're living in a'been there, done that' pedal world. Most every guitarist is familiar with the limitations of putting one fuzz or distortion into another. losing the detail but perhaps gaining that fun"shutdown" effect as one overloads the other, and the"where's ... moremy fuzz? experience of playing a fuzz into a really dirty amp. Limitations. They increase your creativity but hob-gobble your plan. I designed this new distortion generator. Machine, with some different limitations. Like try playing chords through it. Hmmm. But put it in front of any string of fuzz pedals, and try to make it disappear. Machine is actually a dual frequency-tripler circuit that uses crossover distortion for the first time in any pedal, ever. It generates the distortion of the wave in the sloped part of the cycle, instead of the peaks and valleys like all other distorters and fuzzes. In other words, it distorts when your guitar string is in the middle of vibrating, while it's swinging, not as it's turning around. That's the same place where your speaker cone is sort of coasting, between all the way in and all the way out. Where nothing is happening, this pedal happens. With Machine you can leave your favorite distorting pedals on and still add a new element of energetic grind. Knobs are In. Could not make any sound, even motor and amplifiers were working. When I brought it home I realized that the first gear spring was missing, that's why they did not make any sound, I installed missing spring(not included) and organ sounded like new. There was only about 10 minutes testing organ, so all parts are like NEW! Gears. Tonewheels like New condition, will include compartment plates, parted screws, and an Original Hammond Tag with serial No. Please consider that there will be ... moresome Hammond Oil on the parts.
