Antique Solid (Painted) Oak Wash Stand With Swivel Mirror
I get most of my items at estate auctions and sell them in an"as found" condition. I do no repairs. Alterations and very little cleaning. This is done in the belief that most buyers prefer to receive them as original as possible. Because the items I sell can come from anywhere. I can't guarantee they all come from smoke free environments. DESCRIPTION: Although the swivel mirror has obviously been a part of the wash stand for a very long time. I don't think it was originally a part of the piece. I'm not sure about that but most wash stands I've seen of this type simply have a towel bar where the mirror is located. The existing towel bar is original but the mirror was simply added to make the stand more functional as a dresser. Except for that and the paint the piece appears to be completely original with all of it's ... morehardwar and it still has it's original porcelain casters. It is solid oak but will need to be stripped to be beautiful again. It is about 30" in length, 15 1/4" in depth and about 29" in height. It is about 63 1/4" in height to the top of the mirror. vintage New Haven wind-up alarm clock. Working clock but the alarm spring is bad so the alarm doesn't wind. The main spring for the clock part works fine. Sometimes it runs all day. Sometimes it'll stop and you have to give it a shake to get it goig and it'll run some more, may need work. The Bakelite stand looks good no breaks but there are cracks and a piece missing at the top right of the main clock case where it swivels on the 2-post stand. Still is sturdy and swivels fine. 1940-50's- ANTIQUE- VINTAGE- RETRO- SCHOOL DESK W/ ATTACHED SWIVEL CHAIR- UNIQUE! RARE! This children's school desk was in use at a local Vocational High School near where I live over 26 years ago. The school was updating its furniture and opened up to the public to buy the old desks to help fund the new ones. Well. I lucked out to be able to pick out two lovely, well kept desks when I got there, and have been using this charming piece every since then in my home. It is definitely in Excellent Used Condition with a few stray marker marks on the top from when my son was a toddler. Desk has been kept in our home, consistantly, for the past 26 or so years, not stored in a garage or out in the weather at all. It is dusty and could use a cleaning ~ maybe even light restoration or refinishing to bring out and highlite its natural beauty, ... morewhich won't take much work at all since it is in such good shape- not thick with layers and layers of varnish, polyeurethane or paint etc. Seat is wood and metal, and desk top is wood, and lifts open to store your paper and supplies inside perfectly, with two metal props on the inside compartment on either side to make the desktop level if needed- see pics. Both the seat and the desktop operate well, and both are height adjustable. There isn't a better built or more sturdy, stable piece of furniture around! This is a great piece for display. For a play desk for your little ones, or to home-school and keep everything organized and everyone on-task in an educational type setting! Condition: This piece is vintage and in used condition. There are some very minor stray marker/crayon/glue/glitter marks on this piece as is typical for a children's school desk. There are also a couple very light etchings in the wood. There are two wheel sets on each caster and they can spin a full 360 degrees and more on a post. There is a third smaller wheel between the wheel set and the base. Fantastic vintage industrial stool. Metal tube legs held together by a circular stretcher. Round wooden seat swivels and has an adjustable mechanism. But no longer goes above the lowest height. The entire piece is mounted on casters. There is some slight separation on the seat, but it is solid. Original green finish. No maker's mark. Most likely dates from the mid 1900's. This piece has a great industrial look. But has obviously been well used. There is significant wear to the seat and light chipping and light rust to surface. Other than some yellowing of the glue where the equator line was glued on this globe looks brand new.Whoever had it all these years took excellent care of it. The base and rotating axis are heavy duty powder coated metal. The globe is unique in the fact that all mountainous regions are raised on this globe.
