Included is a strainer with a built in valve and screen. You can easily clean it on the fly without having to bleed the air pressure down. These strainers are really nice to have in front of the valve as it will catch all the dirt and scale from plugging up the drain valve. These are made for many applications including you air compressor's receiver tank, filters, air dryer or a drip leg. It is adjustable to open from.5 minutes to 45 minutes and to stay open for.5 to 10 seconds. It also has a test function to be sure it is working. It operates on 110 volt household current. And it works, plus the box shows some wear and tear because of storage. This drain is used to drain moisture. Condensation, oil or any liquids that build up in your air compressor tank. This valve is electronic and is 115 volt. It is controlled by a timer setting, the valve will open every 45 minutes to every 0.5 minutes depending on how often you would like it to open and will stay open from 0.5 to 10 seconds also depending on where you have it set.
