I acquired a pure Beltsville White tom in the fall of 2006 from Gerald Donnelly. A well known Canadian breeder who got his Beltsville turkeys from the University of Guelph flock in Canada. The University of Guelph in Canada has the PURE BELTSVILLE WHITE turkeys also. I acquired another non related tom in 2012.These toms has made the genes in my Beltsville flock much stronger. Adult toms average 22 lb. Hens 12.lbs. They are very disease resistant and reproduce quite well in pens or open range. I am a licensed NPIP inspector for the State of Illinois#1014 and I can assure you this flock is clean. The Beltsville were developed by the USDA in Beltsville. Maryland back in the 1950's. My flock can be seen on this site A few trates of the true Beltsville are 1. They have fewer pinfeathers so dressing is easier. 2. They are very disease resistant. 3. They can fly very good and are excellant free range birds. They love to roost in trees. I keep mine in a acre pen with a 8 ft. fence and one wing clipped. 4. I acquired a pure Beltsville White tom in the fall of 2006 from Gerald Donnelly. A well known Canadian breeder who got his Beltsville turkeys from the University of Guelph flock in Canada. The University of Guelph in Canada has the PURE BELTSVILLE WHITE turkeys also. I acquired another non related tom in 2012.These toms has made the genes in my Beltsville flock much stronger. Adult toms average 22 lb. Hens 12.lbs. They are very disease resistant and reproduce quite well in pens or open range. I am a licensed NPIP inspector for the State of Illinois#1014 and I can assure you this flock is clean. The Beltsville were developed by the USDA in Beltsville. Maryland back in the 1950's. My flock can be seen on this site A few trates of the true Beltsville are 1. They have fewer pinfeathers so dressing is easier. 2. They are very disease resistant. 3. They can fly very good and are excellant free range birds. They love to roost in trees. I keep mine in a acre pen with a 8 ft. fence and one wing clipped. 4.
