SURGE STAINLESS STEEL MILKER BUCKET MILKING COW GOAT NOT SAFE FOR RAW MILK !!!!!
Hello. This listing is for a old surge babson brothers milker bucket. This is the older seamed milker bucket style that has not been allowed on Grade A or grade B inspected dairy farms since the 50's. So sold as not safe for raw milk use. Any of the old surge buckets with the flat stock top handle, the seamed around the middle stainless and the raise bottom base are not safe for raw milk, only the seamless have been approved since the 50's. They discovered way back in the 50's that the metal alloy in the welded seams could taint the milk and make people sick. This is not something that would make people sick right away but more over a period of time. Why risk the chance of making people sick just to save a few dollars. I know there are people out there using these but I say why take the chance on something that was not allowed ... morefor raw milk back since the 50's. Each state has FDA laws to keep people from selling unsafe milking equipment. This is for display or planter purposes only and not for raw milk use. Bucket has some ding, dents, and normal use ware. Bottom has some staining, inside is pretty clean and does not leak, but like I stated not safe for food use. Returns only accepted if clearly miss represented. All non paying buyers will be reported. Vtg SURGE BABSON MILKER w/ PULSATOR COVER & TEAT CUPS
Description Vintage SURGE MILKER made by BABSON BROTHERS. Chicago, Ill. All stainless large bucket, teat cups, and the pulsator cover. It is in excellent condition, other than the rubber hoses would need to be replaced to be functional if so desired. The milker has been sitting on the shelf in the milkhouse for a number of years since the dairyman utilized them. I'm not the original owner, but was told the they were being used until the time they were place on the shelf several years ago, however, I didn't try them, nor do I know anything positive about the pulsator. I do know that the milker bucket is very clean inside and out and only has a few minor dings. The larger teat cups are very straight and totally dent free. The large rubber cups on the end of the stainless tat cylinders appear to be fine. The handle and cover retaining ... moretab may have been soldered or brazed over the years. Someone did an excellent job. Both are smooth and strong. The inside cover gasket appears to be fine. About 16-1/2" in diameter x 11.75" high to top of the handle. There are some little dents along the front edges which is common. This bucket is roughly about 16 inches in diameter by I would say a little over 7 inches high-the belly of it-not the handle-just the tub. The top opening is 7 1/2 inches outside. The inside looks clean. When I got this bucket it was dusty and dirty so I basically rinsed it off and dried it with a towel. I believe it is a 5 gallon but I am not sure. This is a used surge dairy claw with a shut off valve that fits on top of a surge pulsator bucket. The outside of the plastic cup says Surge. The plastic is free from cracks. But has a piece broken off from one end of one of the stems that the teet cup fit onto, as hopefully the pictures will show. Maybe it will still work, or use as parts. The end of the stem with the shut off calve measures approximately 5/8" across. This unit comes as as found. It will need cleaned, and the gasket may possibly need replaced. Stainless Steel SS milk cream can bucket pail IH McCormick delaval surge milker
For sale is an old stainless steel milk bucket. Measures about 14 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter. Great shape with no dents. Leaks or repairs, just very minor wear from use. This listing is for a set of the surge milker bucket and surge milker bucket lid wall or cart hanging brackets. Both marked with surge logo right in the stainless steel. These were designed to be mounted to the wall but now days I have seen people with portable setups mounting them on a milking cart. This is for both hangers with no screws or mounting hardware. These were designed for the bucket and the lid to hang at it's best possible drying position. Once mounted to wall the bucket handle tips right into the elephant ear top of larger hanger to hang for complete drying. The side tab holder on milker bucket lid hooks into top tab on smaller holder so lid hangs upright and outward for complete air drying(even the inside lip will dry in this position) Sold as found in old milk house.
