Nice patina for the age- almost 100 years old! The second pair of shears are 13 inches long and are stamped" 71 U T S combination. Sheffeild, England. A working pair of shears, the handles are wrapped in an old black tape with a leather strap that is belted across the top and down one side then wrapped into the tape. Vintage England Primitive Sheep wool Shears Farm country signed Burgon and Ball
Up for auction is a very nice vintage pair of sheep sheers that have a great old patina to them and are marked twice. Once on each half and riveted together. these are extremely sharp and I'm sure be used today if they were cleaned up a bit. I have left them as I found them and will leave any clean-up or restoration to the next owner. these are Marked Burgon& Ball over a crown and Patent no 294 they also hals Marked B B and again with B B inside a box over an A and finally they are stamped Made in England. they have a very old wrapping on the handles which is in pretty good shape on one handle and unraveled and half missing on the other. I have included a number of photo's that show the condition better than I can describe it but will be happy to add more photo's should you like. Vintage Manual Sheep Shears. Not marked by the maker. Rusty all over. The blades are not aligned properly. The wire retainer is still around the handle. Close the blades and slide the retainer up. This keeps the blades securely together. Like you needed that nugget of wisdom. I know. You got this. The approximate dimensions: 9 3/8" long. 2 3/4" wide at the handle, and 1 1/8" tall at the handle. These are rusty all around. Still, very cool and great for the age.
