This tin tray is in nice condition with much of it's original color and added black print. It does have some uniform spots of discoloration here and there which actually blend into the background around the dog. The opposite side is in a light blue color and there is some high point wear. Mother of pearl outer edges of handles are almost gone- only one 1" piece left. 11" overall length. There is tarnish to the heavy steel blades; they could use some sharpening but are very sharp and still functional. One blade is serrated and one is smooth- the serrated edge is for snapping through bone. Interesting company history if you google this name. Antique Silver Poultry Trophy Vermont Poultry Assn Show 1911 For Best Male 1 FT!
This a wonderful large silverplate antique trophy. It stands just short of one foot tall at the top of the handles and is all hand engraved. It is a traditional loving cup shape. I collected this solely for the date-the birth year of my wonderful in-laws. The engraving reads as follows: AWARDED AT VT. POULTRY ASSN SHOW 1911 FOR BEST MALE. Pretty darn big silver trophy for a chicken! It has a nice scroll work around the bottom foot. Along the top lip and a little on the handles. It is in nice condition with no dents or real deep scratches and no pitting. Just the minor small scratches you will find on silverplate of this age. I have never polished it as I prefer the dark antique patina. It is marked on the bottom Made& Guaranteed by Wilcox Silverplate Co Made in the US America 456. So many of these get tossed in basements and attics and ... moreget terribly misshapen over the years. This one is really nice. Old Original Red Wing Crock Stoneware Poultry Fount Buttermilk Feeder Farm NICE!
This is a really neat original Red Wing stoneware poultry drinking fount and buttermilk feeder. It is fresh from a local farm estate and measures about 6 1/4 inches in diameter and about 8 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with normal wear for being almost 100 years old! It does have one chip about the size of a 50 cent piece on it but the nice part of it is that it's on the opposite side from the name on it. This really won't be noticed if you display it with the label in the front and I think it could be repaired with a little talent. These original poultry feeders are getting harder to find every day as the amount of original homesteads keeps getting smaller. The survival rate on these can't be real high. It would be a great addition to the decor in your country home or it will fill the hole in your Red Wing pottery ... morecollection. The pictures tell the story. You won't be disappointed in any way. Vintage 1930s 1940s Chicken Turkey Farm Sign Conkeys Sick Birds Vet Poultry Feed
This original sign says Conkeys First Aid Products. Poultry Service Station, AND it is double sided with the same design on both sides! It is from around the 1930s or 1940s, sturdy black painted or tole metal, about 20" tall, 14" wide and has a 1 1/2" flange edge to mount on the side. The yellow color is less bright and the red is a bit darker than pictures came out. This shaving set is being auctioned as is- I have made no attempt to clean or repair The box lid is damaged(see photos 8 and 9) and the box is tatty The shaving kit consists of a shaver. Two boxes for blades(one marked with the words Gillette- photo 7) and two cylinders that I assume contained sticks of soap as the bottom of each cylinder appears to be able to move up as the soap diminishes in size One of these cylinders is damaged around the top(see photo 6) part of the cylinder that holds the lid on has come apart from the cylinder Inside the box lid you can make out the name of the retailer- Houghton& Co. 32 Poultry, Cheapside I think the cylinders and blade tins are silver and would clean up very nicely Please look at all the photos as they form an important part of the description Dimensions of the shaving set- 10cm by 14cm by 5cm
