Vintage Mid-Century(1940-50s) figural cast aluminum horse head hitching post or fence post finial in great condition. Has a hexagonal base which has an inner dimension of 2 1/2" which would fit a 4" post notched to that size. Horse head is 3/4" wide x 4 5/8" long x 3 1/8" high(total height is 7 3/8" Retains traces of old blue and black paint over bare aluminum. Marked with the word"Hurricane" on one side which I believe was the manufacturer. Neat vintage decorative piece for the horse lover! Weighs 12oz. Unusual cast iron post finial or? Vintage Mid-Century NOS item found in my late 97 year old uncles shop. Rocket shaped solid cast iron. 10 1/4" long x 2 1/4" at the widest point.
