Light Beekeeper Jacket Large This auction is for a light weight pullover beekeeping jacket. It features elastic at the wrists and waist for comfort and protection. The hood zips partially off so you can put it back when not in use. It measures 42" from the brim of the hat to the elastic waist band. 28" from shoulder to elastic sleeve, 26" from the hood zipper to the elastic waist band, and roughly 26" between the 2 seems on the sides. The back cover is missing. On the pages there are pencil notations from who had this catalog. This has been used but it is almost 100 years old. I don't think many catalogs from 1917 exist. You can set up 5 hives with multiple supers as well as 2 nucs for breeding and hive splits. I assembled the boxes and frames using both glue and nails and used either high quality paint or spar varnish for durability. Boxes and frames are in good shape with the exception of one brood box that has some dry rot on a corner and one base with dry rot on its corner. See pics. They are easily fixable with some rock hard putty filler. Note that there are 10 supers. 7 of which have 10 frames each, one has 8 frames, and two have no frames. Most people use 10 per super, but I used 8 per super. Frames need some cleaning prior to introduction. Also included are extra ... morefoundation. Extra brood frames, queen excluders, and three cardboard nucs if you find yourself in need of them for swarms. I also include two box spacers that are used to create a space so you can apply mite treatments to the top of the hive. The thymol mite treatment is the only"chemical" I have ever used in the hives. No antibiotics, fungicides, etc. Only powdered sugar for hive beetles. Some frames are foundationless. Which I had great success with. I found the bees prefer to build their own comb instead of using the plastic foundation. I am reluctantly selling because I injured my back a while ago and so can no longer manage the hives properly.
