Here's a Bruel& Kjaer model 2209 Impulse Precision Sound Level Meter with a 4145 1" microphone and a 1616 1/3 octave filter set attached. This meter's in pretty good looking condition. It does have some little scuffs and scrapes. The biggest mark on it is on the left side of body near the microphone and is shown close up in one of the pictures above. The filter set's battery compartment is clean. Although the meter itself has some signs of corrosion in there. I put in some batteries and tried it. And everything seems to at least work, the needle moves, the filters seems to be filtering the bandwidths, the peak hold settings hold, and so on. The bulbs all work. Of course I can't verify the calibration, but it doesn't seem to have any problems as far as I can tell. The ultrasonic calls emitted by the bats are inaudible to the human ear. But they are picked up by the bat detector and transformed into audible sound. The transformation can be made with different techniques. The most common are: Heterodyning Frequency division Time expansion Heterodyning and frequency division are real-time methods(i.e. the sound from the detector is heard at the same time the call is emitted by ... morethe bat) Heterodyning is the most sensitive method of the two but only transforms a small portion of the ultrasonic frequency range. This auction is for a lightly used decibel sound pressure level meter. I am selling it because I have very little use for it as of now. It is a really nice meter and was taken care of. It can measure A. C, or F weight. It can measure from 30 to 130 decibels and has a max hold and adjustable alarm function. It will measure fast or slow weight samples. This meter also has a Leq function to find the average spl over a certain period of time. The screen is led backlit and very bold. It comes with the software to graph the spl levels over time as well as the serial and USB cables to hook it up to a computer. It also comes with the user manual and a precision screwdriver to calibrate the meter on the side. Rane RaneGain Generator and Transducer Up for sale is a used Rane RaneGain Generator and Transducer. The RaneGain test set is a handy tool kit based on techniques first developed by Pat Brown of for use in quickly setting sound system gain controls. Using the RaneGain pair makes setting level controls a snap. Comprised of a precision 400 Hz sine wave generator and a matching piezo transducer. The test set makes use of the Fourier principle that all periodic waves can be broken down into a sum of pure sine waves. If a pure 400 Hz tone is the source in a system, and the system is turned up until clipping, then what comes out is the 400 Hz fundamental, plus a whole string of predominately odd-order harmonics. Spectrum analysis of the output will show the 400 Hz fundamental, plus strong harmonics at the odd harmonic intervals of 1.2 kHz, 2 kHz, ... more2.8 kHz, 3.6 kHz, 4.4 kHz and so on. The RaneGain Transducer is a piezo tweeter designed to reproduce mid-to-high audio frequencies, so while it doesn't reproduce the 400 Hz fundamental worth a hoot, the harmonics make it scream. The RaneGain test set provides a 400 Hz test tone and matching transducer for setting gain controls in a typical sound system. Consult for detailed set-up procedures.
