The probe connections on this one have screw down type connectors, while on the others they have the banana plug type connectors. The ADJUST knob is a little different too. There are instructions in the top inside of the lid and there is a No. 271 Test Standard 0.0025 Ohm test bar mounted inside the lid. These instructions look like most older military instructions. All knobs, switches, push button, probe screws move freely. Also, on other models I have seen, the closures on the case are different. Vintage Leeds & Northrup Co. Potentiometer Test Equipment Voltage Galvanometer
We are offering this unique Vintage Leeds& Northrup piece of test equipment. Let me start off by saying this is not my thing- I know nothing about these. Don't know how to use them- and frankly am not interested in learning. With that being said I am drawn to old things in general that catch my eye so when I went to an estate sale and saw this sitting in the garage I had to get it. I tried to do some research so I could at least get this thing in the right category- My best guess based on what I have seen is this is a potentiometer. Please correct me if I am way off. Everything seems to be there- when I opened up the case I was surprised to see how clean everything was- not rusted out like I have seen many of these old testers. When I unscrewed the side piece to unveil the two vintage batteries they also seemed to be in very nice ... moreshape- no weird build up and nice looking connections. This is a large piece- the dimensions are 21" wide x 9" deep x 10" tall and weighs 30 lbs. I tried to take close ups so you could see good details of the different dials and there condition.
