Remove the handle and 4 tiny screws on the back and the case slides off. You do not need to remove the feet to get to the battery/ inside. Remember on old CRT equipment that you will shock the ever loving you-know-what out of yourself if you touch the big red wire going into the CRT. Sometimes hours after the unit has powered down. There are no warning labels anywhere With a little windex and a toothbrush you might be able to bring this to museum quality. Amplitude and frequency calibration on RF section are nominal. This analyzer is clean. But somewhat shopworn, has things like sticker residue from old property and calibration tags, and the normal scuffs and scrapes you would expect from an instrument of this age. Because the interconnecting cable is either unobtanium or very expensive. A home made cable was fabricated using the chassis mounted rear panel connector. This has proven to be very satisfactory during years of operation. This unit is used and somewhat shop worn. But is clean and works well. It has all the scuffs and scrapes one would expect from an instrument of this age. Instead of cursing the spurs on your 18 GHz 141T/ 8555A spectrum analyzer. Buy this preselector! This is a lot of 3 HP 8555A Spectrum Analyzer RF Sections. All three are in clean condition and complete with no known missing parts. But each has a different problem. The hope is that one or more can be put to working condition: One unit actually functions. But amplitude response is down by 10-20 dB. This unit comes with the three 50 ohm BNC terminations. One unit produces a response but will not tune in frequency. One unit will tune the V notch in the full span mode. But does not show any response to input signals. The band switch and tuning mechanisms on all three are in good condition. Not shown but I'll throw it in the box. Is the YIG 1st Local Oscillator assembly. It is believed to work, but is sold as-is.
