The item powers on and all of the dials function properly. The"speed" knob on the side of the unit is loose and will come off when pulled. This does not affect the working condition of the unit however. Because the motor clearly speeds up or slows down depending on where the knob is set. There are some scratches and scuffs on the outer casing of the unit and some staining on some of the steel. None of the cosmetic damage appears to affect the functionality of the unit. Vintage Spencer American Optical MICROTOME, Model 810
ANOTHER ONE OF JACK'S AUCTIONS! US BUYERS ONLY. Measuring about 12" x 9" x 8" tall) and weighing about 33 pounds. This vintage American Optical Microtome appears to be in GOOD CONDITION. When I bought it, it was covered in dust and I cleaned it up the best I could. You may want to do some further cleaning in those hard to get at spots. Cosmetically, there is normal wear from use and one unusual issue. The metal A/O name tag on the machine(seen in my 5th picture above) is split in half. Somehow it got sliced. Operationally, everything seems to work as it should. However, the hand-crank wheel pictured in my last picture does not sit tightly on it's shaft. There is a screw(seen in that picture) that tightens the wheel to the shaft but it is tightened as tight as it will go. Up for auction today is a Leica Ultracut UCT Ultra Microtome and AG controller. This unit is for parts because it is missing the microscope head and another piece that seems to attach to the stage. The wheel on the side spins and moves the silver piece accordingly. The AG controller powers on and says error and then beeps a few times and the error sign goes away. This could be because we don't have any cables to connect it to the microtome but we cannot say for sure due to lack of expertise. Please verify the pictures for missing parts.
