This Precision Model 640 I picked up from the estate of a fellow who used to work on old radios. I am offering it for parts or repair. Right now it is non functioning. I've plugged it in and couldn't get it to do much of anything. If I toggle the on/off switch I can see the short light flicker. Noticeable issues are the power cord needing to be replaced and the roller tube chart is damaged on the right side. If functioning this is a very good tester. Current, resistance and current plus it has a capacitance measurement circuit. This is in very good condition with only a few nicks to the case. All switches and pots are crisp in operation and not erratic. I cleaned all switches and pots plus the sockets. Tube sockets are as tight as they should be. The roll chart is smooth with very little looseness or binding. Occasionally you do need to press a little bit on the wheel to get the chart moving. It is sold as guaranteed good. For sale is a vintage Hickock model 532 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester. The tester does power up when you turn it on and I could not see any reason why it would not work. I am not at all familiar with this machine and don't know what buttons to push to do a real test with it. I do have a box of tubes if someone would like to tell me how to do it. Hickok Model 600A Micromho Dynamic Mutual Conductance Vacuum Tube Tester
If you are looking for a tester with a nice case. This is not the one. The case is in terrible condition. It is intact enough to safely house the tester, it just doesn't look nice. I don't know if all functions are working. I am capable of; finding a tube number in the scroll. Plug the tube in, make the listed settings, push the listed button, and read the meter, good or replace. Other then setting the line adjust, this is all that I have the knowledge to do. I do not know how accurate it is, as I don't have a tube of a known condition or another tester to compare to. The face of the tester in in pretty good condition. It has definitely had some use. As you can see wear marks around the switches wear fingers have rubbed on it. There is a lens missing over the bias fuse, and the power cord is pretty cracked up and should be replaced ... moreas well as the short test lead. The metal name plate that is supposed to be glued under the lid has come off. The tube sockets seemed to work fine on the two I tried, but all look like they have light corrosion on the contacts. The scroll is complete and works well, it gets a little harder to roll as you approach the ends. There is some writing in pencil on the back of the face. I will wrap up the two tubes underneath to be sure they are not damaged during shipping. BE SURE TO OPEN AND REMOVE THE PACKAGING MATERIAL BEFORE USE! Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester for Parts or Repair
I just picked up this Supreme model 85 at a public sale. It is missing lid, instructions and tube data. I got what I needed on internet to check it out. Testers meter adjusted to center as it should so I tried testing good 6A3 tube, I could not get a reading but bulb lit so its not burnt out. I tried a type 80 rectifier tube it seemed to test ok. Cosmetically its not bad, the top left and right corners are broke at screw holes, and a screw is missing to the right of leakage test bulb. It powers up, but I have no way of testing it. The previous owner said it worked fine. It still has the original operating manual which is in very good, untorn condition. Cords are in very good condition and the case is in good condition(see pictures) The case is clean and sound, but does have some rust that will need to be cleaned off the exterior metal. The handle is strong and the closing snaps work well, a separation is beginning to form at the back of the top's edge. Vintage HICKOK Model 540 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester Radio Amp Stereo
Here's an interesting early HICKOK tube tester model 540. It tests early 4 pin tubes through those of the octal era. I have not done exhaustive testing nor did I evaluate all test settings but the instrument did power on and I was able to test a few tubes. Pictured is a 6F6 under test. The resulting meter deflection appears reasonable but the tube tester has not been recently calibrated. The test meter is contained within a carrying case. The handle is tattered but functional and the tolex-like covering is worn in spots but overall not bad. It measures 14 1/2" x 15 3/4" x 7" not including the handle. This tester is being offered AS IS. FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION.

The display board. Including all dials, buttons, slides and switches are in very good shape. This unit powers up fine. The red power light illuminates, a light comes on to illuminate the rolling tube selection guide and the line adjustment knob properly controls the meter needle when the power is on. Everything appears to work as designed but I do not know how to properly test the unit. It appears the previous owner replaced the power cord with a grounded. Industrial quality replacement cord. The wood box is in good shape except for a small layer of wood pulling away from the front edge of the lid(see the last photo) and typical marks and dings. Here is a vintage Lafayette Tube Tester Model TE-15. This tester appears to be in working condition. I found an old tube and plugged the tester in. I put the tube in the correct position and followed the instructions in the book. The tube lit up. The red light came on when I moved the some of the switches which indicated there was a leak. I then tested the quality which the needle on the gauge pointed to"Replace" This tester comes with the operating instructions. This tester has been sitting around in a garage for a long time and needs a major cleaning. There are scratches and some surface rust. The"Load" knob is broken. This is a vintage Seco tube tester. Dynamic Mutual Conductance. It is Model#107& Serial#1784. It has a dynamic mutual conductance cathode emission gauge for test bad or good tubes. It has the following plug ins, dials, switches, or buttons: 34 different plug ins for different tubes; eye adjust open or close; Norm to A, B, or D; Fil Volts; Line Adjust; Load 0-100; Circuit selector; fil cont. This was my friend's Grandfathers, and has been in storage for over 15 years. It could use a good cleaning from being in storage. I don't know much about these. This is a vintage Hickok Model 6000 Micromba dynamic mutual conductance tube tester. It has the following knobs. Plug ins, buttons: Filament.6-117; bias 0-100; shunt 0-100; micromhos dynamic mutal conductance meter; fuse light; power off to line adjust; no. 49 lamp bias fuse; shorts; function A-G; filament continuity, test, gas buttons; filament A-M; grid 0-Y; plate 1-O; screen 0-Y; cathode 0-Y; suppressor 0-Y. There is a section for Selectors& Chart, but there is no levers for both. It also includes the roll chart for it. The power cord and one other short connector cord is included. Serial#18711127. A photocopy of the user manual& tube data will be included. I have plugged it in and it powers up. As you can see from pictures, but not able to fully test. PRECISION MODEL 10-60 TUBE AND TRANSISTOR TESTER WORKS CLEAN FOR RADIO AMP MUSIC
This offering is for a PRECISION MODEL 10-60 TUBE AND TRANSISTOR TESTER IN WORKING CONDITION. THE CASE SHOWS WEAR. BUT IT IS SOLID AND PRESENTABLE. The hardware is all good, the handle, the hinges, the latches all super. Best of all, the case has done it's assigned duty of keeping the tester clean and protected. I compared this pRECISION'S test results to my 2 calibrated Hickok TV7- testers, a"good but barely" tube on my TV7-D also show good on the Precision- but not very strong. The meter operates smoothly and properly. It is true however that testers of this age generally should be calibrated, as most have not been calibrated in decades. I did not test the transistor portion, as I have no knowledge in that area. I'm a tube guy. Please note the roll chart has two windows, the top window is for transistor test data and ... morethe bottom window shows the test data for tubes. The roll chart rolls nicely, with no difficulties. Up for auction is a Precise Development Model III Tube Tester. I acquired this a couple of years ago at a ham auction. And have never used it. I have a manual for it that is included. It appears to have been lightly used. I don't think it was ever used commercially, as there is very little evidence of use on the panel controls. In very clean condition. I understand this brand is considered to be a well engineered, pretty popular instrument. There is a note taped to the upper center of the panel, which I will not remove. Sold as is. Vintage Knight Kit Model KG-600C Tube Tester w Instruction Manual Tube Chart '69
Here is a nice vintage Knight Kit KG-600C Tube Tester. Made by Allied Radio Corp of Chicago Illinois USA made back in 1969. The Tester was found with the original assembly manual and tube chart, is in used very good condition with some wear as pictured, and 1 of the knobs does not tightened up on the shaft and the rubber on the clip for the connecting the top metal of the tube has dried out. The tube tester was plugged in and lights up, meter adjusts, all controls appear to work, the tube chart spins properly and I tested a few tubes and the tester appears to work, but may need to be adjusted. The Case shows some wear with the handle is broken as pictured, is missing 2 feet, but both latches work properly.
