Electro-lite Teklite ELC 400 ultraviolet curing lamp for UV curable epoxies
An excellent bench-top tool for curing epoxies. Certain polymers, UV-curable adhesives, etc. It uses a halogen(I think) lamp bulb with filters housed with a cooling fan. The mounting is adjustable for height and it is turned on by a foot pedal. The controller may be pre-set for a certain"on" time which allows both hands to be free for positioning items to be cured. After the pre-set time is concluded the fan keeps running for a few minutes to ensure that the bulb is cooled down. I have used this unit for curing optical adhesives(clear epoxies) which it does very effectively in a few seconds. Many other epoxies are UV-curable. But I do not think that all are. If you have a need for quickly setting epoxies then UV-curable types are readily available. For example, hobbies, jewelry repair, optical experiments all benefit from quick ... moresetting UV-curable epoxy adhesion and this unit works well for curing it. The unit works fine: it is for sale because my company has ceased operation and we are liquidating equipment. The lamp has less than 30 minutes total exposure time so is fairly new. I am including an extra foot pedal and UV shield which came off another similar unit which provided many months of useful production.
