Up for auction a Systron Donner Universal Counter Timer or in short words a frequency conter. I have no manuals for this and found little info on the web about this unit. Has three input ports Port A and B which are BNC type go up to 170 MHz aprox. Port C has a selector switch one position 0.1 to 0.5 GHz and the other from 0.5 to 26 GHz. I was surprised the company wanted to get rid of the unit because it works. Last calibration date was 1994 I estimate it was removed from service about 2002. Unit has IEEE 488 port in rear. The unit also has a built in volt meter with 1V 10V 100V ranges and Trig A and Trig B position. I put a signal generator and it does measure up to 26GHz. Unit not DOA. Buyer pays for shipping. It shows moderate wear from being lugged around by its previous owner but will function as it was designed to do. You will find that there is some grime in the corners that is difficult to remove. Scrapes on the outer panels of the unit, and a small piece of plastic that that came off of the display. None of these damages will affect the 5334A's ability to operate. This unit has been tested in conjunction with a Wavetek Model 187 Frequency Generator. Since we have two of the frequency counters in house we were able to do a comparison to see how far off the units were from their original calibration back in the 90s. Racal Dana 1992 Nanosecond Universal Counter Digital Display Opt 04a
All momentary switches are good and have a nice tactile feel. Unit is clean and in good shape. Power cable is included. Nothing else included. I have attached pictures of an Agilent counter and signal generator to demonstrate the error displayed by the Racal Dana counter. The Agilent frequency counter has a GPS controlled clock with the error shown in the lower left corner of the monitor screen. Since the Agilent counter has a very low error it can be compared to the Racal Dana counter that is operating on its own timebase. Last calibration info is not available.
