We purchased this antique voltmeter at an estate sale and was told that it was used by the Richmond. Fredericksburg& Potomac Railroad. It has a sticker for the railroad on the outer wooden box and an envelope for the railroad within the box. This is a Weston Model 341 Voltmeter and the paperwork in the box is dated 1954. This instrument is an electrodynamometer voltmeter and if properly used, its indications may be relied upon to within 1/2 of one percent of full scale value. The wooden case has some wear, however, is in nice condition for its age. The Voltmeter appears to be in excellent condition. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask. Vintage / Antique Sensitive Research Single Phase Low Power Factor Wattmeter
This device is in good physical condition except one of the hinge screws is non-original and the wood veneer chipped off around the other hinge but was glued back. It came from the laboratory of a factory and hasn't been used in years. I have no way to tell you if it is working or not. But I have no reason to beleive it isn't. It has all(4) mounting nuts w/ washers and is jumpered in the shorted condition. I cannot test the meter but based on the look and shape of it, one shouldn't have any issues.
