Untitled Document I ran this up on a variac and tested the audio output section and it does put out a weak 400Hz Audio signal but nothing else could be verified as working. I would suspect that this needs a recap like the other gear in this lot. The old wax and paper caps were literally melting away. I have not taken it apart or done any work on it. The attenuator turns and moves fluidly without issue. It does not have a glass plate in front of the dial and only 1 light is good. Check out the pics for cosmetic condition. Here is a vintage 1959 Kay Vari-Sweep. There is no other model number on the unit. It is vacuum tube technology at it's best and was a high quality instrument in it's time. Seems to work with well shaped stable output. Has attenuation switches. It was recapped about 10 years ago. Original edge meter was replaced some time in the past with a panel meter. Scope tracees show waveforms at 2 Mhz and 200 Mhz settings on the unit in CW mode. It did sweep and was adjustable in sweep mode. I cannot guarantee full functionality due to age and is sold as-is. A vintage Zenith SPTE-3 Television Sweep Alignment Signal/Marker generator for TV-IF amplifier alignment. Signal tracing, and UHF tuner alignment, that has been modified for C-band, 3700- 4200 Mhz. It powers ON, tubes light up, voltages seem normal. I am not able to check beyond that. Some controls have been changed, labels added for the new purpose. You can see that a microwave down converter has been added, Satellite Technology Services DC-B, with the 3700 to 4200 Mhz output coming from a cable out of the front. A jack has been added where the centering control used to be to input 950-1450 Mhz. New crystals have been installed for markers. The B&K 415 generates markers for scope alignment of TV sets. Plus the other signals required to get your vintage TV performing at its best. If you are reading this I probably don't have to tell you more about what this does(please see the photo of the controls and outputs on the front panel) This 415 is serial number A-20248. Made in the USA in the early 1970's.
