We have a vintage Emco Unimat Model SL/Pat.ANG. Made in Austria. Really nice small shop Lathe and shop multitool. It is in great shape, and in its origional wood case and it does run smoooooooth! They sure knew how to build things back then. As far as i know it has most of the attachments as you can see and included is 6 origional books, I do have the origional user manual which i found after and did not include in the photo with the other books. Im including everything it came with and it is as is acquired right out of the home. could use a a little cleaning since it was sitting for a while in the home. Used Hendey swing 14"X30" geared head metal lathe model 12X30 with L1 spindle taper. This lathe has spindle speeds 19-598 rpm and threading 1.5-80tpi. Includes full chip pan. A 10" 3 jaw chuck rev jaws, taper attachment, collet closer with 15ea collets and wood case, spindle nose protector, and headstock center. It has less than 1/4 turn backlash in the crossfeed and 1/8 in the compound. It is powered by about a 5HP 3 phase motor and is currently wired for 240 volt 3Ph. The ways have some wear but cannot feel any ridges with my fingernail. It has some dinges and scratches. The bore is 1 1/2" It runs fine, all functions work as they should. Watchmaker’s lathe Die filer Attachment Levin, Boley, “Exceptionally rare"
I have only seen one or two of these Die Filing attachments in the last 25 years. This one is a real piece of machining art. It works by mounting it to the bed of a watchmakers lathe and securing the eccentric crank arbor into the headstock of the lathe. The eccentric crank is adjustable for what I believe is“length of stroke” or“center height of headstock” The table has the ability to be tilted and has a degree calibration and pointer. The files are held in place by a V-block assembly and two screws. Any shape jewelers file can be used in this attachment with a tang diameter up to 5/16” I can’t say enough about the quality of this piece. Some of the parts are heat blued like the parts on some handguns I have seen. The details of the elegant contours and bevels on the parts indicate the care and quality that was taken in the crafting of this ... moreexceptional accessory.It operates like a fine Swiss clock movement. The overall height from the bottom flat where it rests on the lathe bed to the top of the table is 4” Lowest arbor crank stud center height from bottom flat is about 1.75(about 44mm) max height is about 2.5” about 63mm) so my guess is that this is for a 50mm center height lathe. It may work on a larger lathe if the crank pin is adjusted. The table measures about 2 ¾” square. Width of base 1.44” length 1.96” Key on base is.262 wide. Please feel free to request any other info. Derbyshire Watchmaker’s lathe thread cutting attachment with compound “Levin, Bo
Here is a rare opportunity to own a complete exceptional Derbyshire thread cutting attachment with the triple slide compound. It comes with the entire set of 15 gears. Plus an extra 50 tooth gear and the 127 tooth gear for cutting metric gears. It came off a Derbyshire Magnus 50mm center height lathe and will work with most any 50mm center height watchmaker’s lathe. I have the rest of the lathe; bed, headstock and lever feed drilling 10mm tailstock that is available to the winning bidder for an additional reasonable fee. This attachment is the deluxe nickel plated version. The universal joint, the bull gear that mounts to the headstock(hole diameter.552” and the mounting screw to secure it to the bed are all included. The headstock bull gear has a split bushing that I believe can be removed and could be replaced with the size that will fit ... moreheadstocks other than the Derbyshire Magnus. I have copies of the paperwork for the setup of thread pitches and gear locations on the attachment that will also be included. I think this setup would be graded a 8.5 to 9 out of ten, ten be new. There is some dried oil on the gears, but no rust. The nickel is pretty much intact. To find a setup like this with all original gears, hardware and compound is really rare, don’t miss your opportunity to treat yourself. Not pictured but included will be the original lantern style toolpost.
