Vintage voltage calibration source - thermopile TACH
A precision thermophile based instrument design. The meter and it's controls are in the left-hand compartment. While the calibration generator is in the right compartment. Here- power is used to heat a thermophile generator to produce a precise current to be applied to the measuring unit's thermocouple. The push-buttons along the lower right-hand side of the main panel control the calibration source- and allow the operator to choose which 1/5 of the meter's range is to be calibrated(100% 80% 60% 40% or 20% of full scale) The control immediately above the push-buttons is used to"trim" calibrate) the internal circuit of the measuring unit's thermocouple. The yellow push-button disconnects the meter movement and places a short across it for transport(the short dampens pointer movement) The red button places the meter ... moreinto the"READ" mode.
