After this did not fix the problem they looked to learn that the encoder was ready to fall off of its mounting arm. Next they used a wrench to tighten the encoder on its bracket. Problem solved. It was decided that they would leave the new counter in place and put this used counter on the shelf. Later this machine received a PLC which made these units obsolete. It was nice of them to attach a note to this unit describing its history.
