Currently over store items listed. 2856 We just test ran this unit-it sounds great and delivers rated pressure +. The air end is inside the metal enclosure that includes a large filter for the intake air. Images of the air end with the cover door removed follow below. We have manuals for this available electronically. One of the unique things ... moreabout this compressor is that it changes its displacement as air demand changes so that you are only compressing the volume you need. Not full volume all the time. This is done via the"turn-valve" mechanism. Looks at page 6 of the brochure at the following link for a description of the how the turn-valve technology works. These images show the large air/oil separator tank unit. We did not see any sign of oil coming through the outlet air when we ran this. These images show the air-end with the cover door removed. This is how it came to us. We have not repainted. The placard above is really hard to read. Key point is that this unit is designed for 100 PSI at high volume. The 200 hp motor placard is below. The compressor control box is shown above and the hour meter below. It shows 16.740 hours. What we don't know is if this is hours since rebuild or not. Cornelius 3 Stage Air Compressor Pump 1500 PSI 27VDC
Cornelius 1500 PSI 3-Stage Compressor This is a DC powered high pressure air compressor that was used in WWII era aircraft for gun charging and bomb bay door systems. I last used it about 2 years ago and it was still running great. I used this pump to replenish the air in the compressed air storage tank of my Yak aircraft which requires approximately 700 PSI of air pressure to start the engine. The pump had no problem achieving that pressure. It is rated at 1500 PSI but I never took it above approximately 700 PSI since that was the rating for the tank I was filling. I have no reason to doubt it can do 1500 PSI if desired. These pumps were very popular in the 1950's and 60's for filling SCUBA tanks while offshore. The data plate states that the motor is rated for 27 VDC but it runs just fine off 24VDC.
