The paper roll sights are a little opaque but did come a little clearer when I wiped them. The paper roll does move but it's a little wrinkled as if it getting caught but it's not torn. Vintage Tube Tester With Inventory of Almost 600 New Old Stock Tubes
This was used to merchandise Triad Tubes in department stores in the early 1970's. It is very rare because it is complete with the tubes in proper location slots some have never been removed. This makes this unit quite rare and hard to find in this conditon. It has worked very well for me for many years. In testing radio and TV tubes. I purchased it from the department store when they were going out of business. It used to be in the old Bell-Scott Department Store in Janesville, Wisconsin. This is ideal for the vintage collector, or the old car buff with tube type radios in the cars. Maybe even a Ham Radio operator would enjoy this, or a True one of a kind for that fully equiped Man Cave. The lights on top work and all the location guides for tubes, and tube reference charts are in good readable condition with few marks. Here is a nice early B&K Dyna Quik model 500 in good condition. This unit has been tested with a couple of tubes that were tested on a calibrated tester my friend owns and the tubes tested within 5% of his. The previous owner said he used this to test all his tubes and it worked very well. This tester has a 83 rectifier tube in it. And has a slight hum when powered up but everything seems to work as it should, it also comes with a 1B3GT adapter and the tube chart booklet plus there is a page on the back of the cover. I am also going to sell another B&K model 606 in another auction, check that one out. The case is in good condition with some worn spots and the latch has some rust. I have 2 HICKOK TESTERS I will be listing tonight. I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& 50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. Vintage TUNG-SOL Seco Model 78 Vacuum Tube Tester - Clean, Works
I bought this tube tester used as a young ham decades ago. I used it lightly over the years to test vacuum tubes for transmitters. Receivers and amplifiers. All this time it was stored on a shelf under my bench in a dry non-smoking environment. I recently powered it up to test a set of old tubes prior to sale. You'll see one of these in the photo. This is TUNG-SOL Model 78 tube tester by Seco Electronics, Inc. Seco Manufacturing Company) of Minneapolis, Minnesota U.S.A. The serial number is 5051. It is a small portable unit measuring approximately 10 1/2 x 9 x 5 inches, housed in a hinged wood box with what appears to be a plastic covering, metal hinges and latch, and a plastic handle. There are 4 metal feet on the bottom. The case has two compartments. On the right side is the electronics chassis with tube sockets, switches, pots, plate ... morecap, and meter. It tests filament continuity, shorts and merit. This side also contains a compartment to store the standard 110 VAC line cord. The other side contains the operating instructions and a set of tube setup data cards that define the proper settings of the instrument for each model tube. Underneath these cards there are 7 pin and 9 pin straighteners mounted to the box. Vintage Hickok tube tester 15560-L1 Mutual cond. tester made for Western Elect.
This tube tester is a Hickok model 15560-L1 mutual conductance tester made for Western Electric for testing audio and other tubes made by Western Electric in addition to many other tubes. It is in good shape and test results compared favorably to those on another Hickok tester. All meters and switches work. The shorts indicating lights work as they should. The two rectifier tubes are good. A good quality reprint of the operating manual is included. Two or three capacitors were replaced and missing or damaged rubber feet were replaced. A small damaged part of the tube chart had to be cut out and the chart glued back together. This part was photocopied and is included. The roll chart works smoothly. The case has several scuffed and rough places. But it has done it’s job well and has protected the tester from any corrosion or other damage. The ... moretester does not show any signs of wear or scratches. It is very clean underneath. The set weighs about 30 lbs. Serial number is 769. Included are the operating manual. I did test a number of tubes before listing them( sold separately) And it works, see issues. It comes with users manual. The Eico 667 is the last and the best of the Eico tube testers. This is the one you want if you're working with vintage electronics. The Eico 667 tester is of the"Dynamic Conductance" type which was originally designed by Jackson as an improvement over simple emission testers without infringing on Hickok's patented"Dynamic Mutual Conductance" design. Eico licensed it from Jackson. And produced a very good tester of this type. The Eico version has an advantage over many, in that it actually measures leakage values on the tester meter instead of using a simple go/no-go"shorts" lamp. This is invaluable for ... morefinding leakage paths that simply don't show up using the less sensitive lamp method. Perhaps one of the nicest features of the Eico 667 tester is the use of precision wire-wound resistors in the measuring circuits- a feature usually found only in the most expensive equipment. As a result. They have held their values and are still well within tolerance. The Eico series of tube testers were intended for professional use. They were marketed mostly to radio and TV repairmen through the local electronic parts dealerships. And their construction shows it. The professional looking brushed aluminum panel was designed to inspire confidence in the customer who saw it, and the heavy steel case of this instrument was intended to protect it well. This tester is in good working condition and shows no abuse. It was owned by an electrical engineer/ham since new.The panel is clean and the inside of the tester shows no sign of damage. n.r.i. professional tube tester. Model 70 in a beautiful restored classic wood case. the top exterior is in ex-cond this tube tester is from around the late 1950s.this tester seems to be in working condition as i tested it with only one tube that i could find. the roll chart is in good cond. the control switchs are good and power cord,cap wire good also comes with other original booklets,tube charts and instructions from n.r.i. all in all i don't know the condition of the capacitors and resistors in this tube tester I am not a expert at this but at some time they should be replaced being that they are over 50 years old. because of the age of this tube tester it is being sold in as is condition.thanks for loooking
