Up for bid is a nice vintage Duncan type MF-A watthour meter.It is a 120 volt.15 amp,2 wire meter.serial# 5,883,902.These meters were built from 1934-1954.My serial number log shows this meter was built in mid 1951.With standardization of meters in 1934,duncan chose to replace the MD meter with a new design.Early MF meters had a large chrome-steel magnet assembly,but this was replaced in 1938(S/N 2,650,000) with an alnico magnet assembly which was less suseptable to loss of strength from lightning and power surges.The first MF-S and MF-A meters had painted register faces but these were replaced in 1936 with aluminium faces which were far ess suseptable to fading and peeling from constant exposure to the sun.With serial# 2,600,000,the MF-S and MF-A meters were redisigned to increase the overload capacity from 300% to 400% This meter is good ... moreoverall condition.the paint will need work.apparently the house painters thought it needed a coat of paint too.the glass is in very good condition with little to no scratches.the wireway door is attached.The internal parts are clean and bright.this meter is untested.NOTE-this item is being sold"AS-IS" with no warrenty or guarantty of any kind. Up for bid is a nice Vintage Duncan M2 watthour meter.it is a110 volt. 5 amp, 2 wire meter.Serial# 477614.This type meter was built from 1915-1926.My serial number log shows this meter was built in mid-1918.The M2 meter was of a new design and easier to work with than the M and M1 meters.The enclosure and internal frame were now made of cast iron instead of punched steel.The potential coil on this meter was the same as used on the previous M1 meter,the coil having two sections connected in series on a U-shaped core.The light load adjustment was changed to a screw type adjuster that allowed for a more precise adjustment.The M2 used the same lag load adjustment plate as the M1.The M2 came in three sizes,depending on the capacity.5-25A,50-75A,and 100A-400A. The meter appears to check ohms and there is a manual in it on how to check insulation. The meter shows DC and AC readings But appears to be missing the guard jack on the right side like the 2100a meters. The unit has not been tested as I do not have enough D-Cell batteries to test the unit. I am selling the unit as-is for parts or repair although the unit might be just fine. YOU CAN TRUST US. We have been selling on ebay since before the turn of the century This unique meter can be left in a 110VAC wall outlet to monitor the variation in electrical voltage. Or it can be taken to another outlet on another circuit if it is suspected that home voltage is varying. It has a unique feature that allows the meter to be in the"up" position if the outlets are either horizontal or vertical. I show the meter in both positions. The orientation is changed by simply twisting the meter in relation to the blades. It seems to be working well and my house voltage is just a bit lower than 120 volts. The unique meter was made by the EMICO(Electro Mechanical Instrument Co. years ago. It has a range of 0-150 volts AC with a least count of 5 VAC. The meter has been used and has some finish wear and tiny"spots" on ... morethe meter face. The glass is not broken or cracked and the meter should be good for years of service. The meter is about two inches in diameter and one-inch thick. The United States One-Dollar bill is shown for size comparison. Siemens 4300 Power Meter For sale- a Siemens 4300 Power Meter. I have two of these. Price is for ONE. The purchase of one will get you two components. You will receive the display/control module. Both of the ones I have are in fair physical condition. They both have scuffs and scratches and a gouge to the protective covering over the display. But as you can see they both still appear to be functional. And you will receive a 4300 electronics box. Both are set up to be powered with 110VAC. Both have been tested. Other than one of them having recorded a lot more KVH I see no difference between them. If they have serial numbers that match the display box I will keep them paired together. If not you will just get one at random. Both have been tested. And I have played with the controllers a little to get various displays to come up. Beyond that ... morethey are untested and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Results presented in the description. For unknown reasons internally the rechargeable battery circuit is disabled(wires are cutoff from the battery holder. So the"Charge" and"Internal" modes are disabled regardless of what the front panel indicator lights might say. Some damage to the metal shielding cabinet. Especially along the top front edge. I could not tell if"Zero Mode" works as I do not know what it is supposed to do. To summarize my calibrations and observations- as a precise measuring device the meter is probably pretty useless, but as a conversation piece and for some specific measurement ranges is might be usable. I get a ... morekick out of this analog device, especially since it was originally designed to handle at lowest range of voltages of +/ 100 µV and currents of +/ 100 nA at full scale, i.e. it had the sensitivity(1/2 of the smallest division) of 1 µV and 1 nA.
