Up for sale is a non-commercial power supply removed from its damaged case that puts out 78VDC at 6A. With about 1V p-p ripple. The assembly is wired together, but should be mounted in a case. It has two large transformers, one 14VAC at 15A, the other around 40VAC at 15A. They are connected to a full wave rectifier bridge mounted on a large heatsink. The output of the bridge feeds at 60,000uF 75V(95V surge) capacitor. The power supply is metered for output voltage and current. The final output is through bananna jacks. This unit has operated flawlessly for about 23 years- the advantage of a simple, classic design! You can either use it as wired, or use the parts for your own design. Vintage Heathkit IPW-17 Regulated High Voltage Power Supply - Load Tested!
This Heathkit IP-17 Regulated High Voltage Power Supply in good working condition. It is a f actory wired unit. Hence the IPW-17 model number tag. Since it was assembled at the Heathkit plant, you can be assured that it was built right and that all solder connections were professionally done by trained technicians. I tested it by applying a load resistor and cranking up the voltage to the maximum at full current(100mA) and letting it run for 10 minutes. It did so with no problem. See the second photo for a demonstration. The Bias and Filament supplies are also working as they should. The cosmetics are pretty good- no scratches to the front panel or either meter. The cabinet shows some use and a little dirt here and there. Both handles are present and solid. The rubber feet have been removed. From a non-smoking and pet-free environment.
