This Heathkit IP-17 Regulated High Voltage Power Supply in good working condition. It is a f actory wired unit. Hence the IPW-17 model number tag. Since it was assembled at the Heathkit plant, you can be assured that it was built right and that all solder connections were professionally done by trained technicians. I tested it by applying a load resistor and cranking up the voltage to the maximum at full current(100mA) and letting it run for 10 minutes. It did so with no problem. See the second photo for a demonstration. The Bias and Filament supplies are also working as they should. The cosmetics are pretty good- no scratches to the front panel or either meter. The cabinet shows some use and a little dirt here and there. Both handles are present and solid. The rubber feet have been removed. From a non-smoking and pet-free environment. Up for bids is an awesome vintage variable voltage power supply from Mallory called a Rectopower Supply 12RS 6D. It features an on-off switch. A 6V-12V switch, and a knob to adjust voltage. I measured from 0V all the way up to 28V. According to the placard on the front of the unit, it is rated for 6 amps continuous in 6V mode and 10A continuous in 12V mode with potential to spike up to 20 amps. The unit is tested and working, but being a vintage piece of hardware I make no guarantees to it's longevity. This power supply was made for powering CO2 lasers and can supply up to 150 watts of power continuously. It would be a great addition to a hobbyists lab for producing high voltage to create plasma. This is a classic NJE bench power supply with current and voltage regulation. Made in New Jersey USA. Design is based on a precise linear feedback-control regulator. Reliable, heavy-duty construction features large capacitors, transformer, and internal heatsink. These high-quality NJE bench power supplies were frequently used by NASA, the US military, and aerospace industries. Output voltage is adjustable from 0–50 VDC. And current limit is adjustable from 0–2A. This unit has a minor cosmetic dent on one of the back corners(see photo) but works PERFECTLY. It has very stable output with virtually no overshoot, and I have used it regularly on my bench with no problems whatsoever. Unit has feet on the bottom with a small stand that can be folded up. The front panel meters are accurate and the unit works flawlessly across the entire output voltage ... moreand current range. Each meter has a switch allowing you select from 3 different ranges which have corresponding scales printed on the meters. Voltage and current adjustment knobs are continuous 10-turn pots across the full range. They are very precise and smooth with no bad spots at all. I am selling this because I recently replaced it with a larger 120VDC supply. I have included photos showing maximum voltage and maximum current output on my meter. NJE serial number is stamped on the back of the unit and original calibration sticker is still attached on the top. THIS IS A VERY NICE. CLASSIC UNIT AND A TRULY RARE FIND. Dimensions are approximately 17" deep x 8.25" wide x 5.5" tall(inches) Weight is approximately 28 pounds.
