Vintage tally counter clicker – works great - used in air traffic control tower
Today I have an old tally counter up for bids. It was used at the air traffic control office in Dillingham. Alaska for many decades to record various types of aircraft traffic counts, such as IFR/VFR aircraft contacts, radio contacts, Special VFR operations, and NOTAMS issued. Unfortunately there is no tag listing the manufacturer. It is a 6 counter tally. It is in good condition and each button works properly. The knobs on the side work to reset the counters to zero. The unit measures 9 inches wide and is in very nice condition for its age. It's a very heavy. Well made, and complicated little machine. This is a small item that measures approx. 1 ½” across including the handle on the side and approx. ¾” wide not including the bottom pieces with the holes in and approx. ¾” tall not including the handle. The bottom has a hole on each side so you can screw it to a work bench and the bottom measures approx. 1 3/8” across. One side of the counter reads: THE VEEDER MFG. CO. PATENTED VEEDER OCT. 22. 1895 AUG. 10. 1911 HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A. It’s in excellent vintage condition. It does have some marks from normal use over the years; minor in my opinion. 2 Hecon Copier Counters with Keys and Reset Box
For sale are two counter devices. A reset device, and counter keys. The counters can be connected to a commercial copier to control access to the copier and count how many copies were made. These were used in a retail shipping/copy/office supply business similar to a UPS Store or FedEx Kinkos, where a customer picks up a red counter key from the store clerk, inserts it into the counter box attached to the copier to enable it and keep track of copies made, then brings the key to the register to pay for their copies. The clerk then puts the counter key into the reset box to clear it for the next customer. These counters and keys are probably 20 years old. The counters still work. The issue is the keys. The two shown work. The grey one counts, and cannot be reset. The red one has a small crack down one side, and is taped together, but still ... morecounts. I also have 3 additional red counter keys that no longer count. The buyer for this collection is most likely someone who has this system and wants to add to it. Or especially someone who can repair the red counter keys.
