This is a used heavy duty enclosure made from cast iron and then hot dip galvanized. The inside is 10x8x4 and the walls are from 1/2 to 1/4 inch thick. This box weighs 53 pounds. All Aluminum watertight project box with huge heatsink for Ham radio or?
This used to be a 3KW solar inverter with a heatsink capable of dissipating about 250W without the inside overheating. This heavy Aluminum welded box with solid cast aluminum heatsink would be great for any outdoor project that requires a watertight enclosure that stays cool. It has a small square hole in the bottom that can easyly be plugged. And entry holes for wiring. As example this could a mast or wall amplifier for HAM radio use( does anybody still build their own gear? or any other electronics that require cooling and a hermetically sealed box( seal is silicone rubber. Heatsink mounts with stainless steel screws) Why use a lot of expensive low loss Coax if you can put your amp near to the antenna? even though it is all aluminum this box is quite heavy( due to the solid heatsink) And fedex ground shipping will be the only option.
