It is titled"Practical Instructions For Using The Steam Engine Indicator" It measures 7" high by 4 1/2" across. It is complete with 213 pages and all four of the fold out graph pages are still in the book. On the inside of the front cover there is a large named book plate glued in that reads Ex Libris, G.G. Mosteller. And on the front of the next page which is a blank page there is a browning area in the shape of the bookplate. Other than that the book is in great condition with nice tight binding, flat white pages and no tears, writing, foxing, or repairs. I have posted several photos so you can see how nice it is. Kent Moore made tools and equipment for General Motors dealers. The directions for use are on a tag on the front of the tester. It has a metal case with a glass cylinder inside. After connecting fuel hoses o the vehicle you would use the lever on the front to either" Fill- Run- Test" You fill the glass cylinder with a measured amount of fuel then run to check the mileage. A transfer compressor is a must if you deliver propane. It allows you to transfer liquid propane from a horizontal l tank to another tank or bobtail delivery truck. This is crucial when you need to evacuate a tank for repair in the field for service or to remove the tank with less than 5% product as required by code. A pump won't work because an excess flow valve is used at the outlet of liquid line of the propane tank. A pump will cause a lot of flow very quickly. This will'slug' shut the excess flow valve and prevent liquid from flowing. The compressor takes tank vapor pressure from the tank being transferred to. And adds it to the tank being evacuated. This differential pressure allows liquid to flow from one tank to the other. The excess flow valve may still slug shut, but now it is more easily controlled by throttling the liquid line and/or cycling the compressor on and off. Cylinders can be brought back to the plant to be inverted and drained. Horizontal tanks must be evacuated. Don't be caught without the mean to do it.

Up for auction is this very rare UNITED STATES FUEL ADMINISTRATION certificate releasing a member. H.H. Gregg, of the administration for serving the government in the war, WW1, from November 15, 1917 to February 1, 1919 and signed by Harry A. Garfield, the administrator, who was appointed by Woodrow Wilson. The administration was established by Executive Order 2690 of August 23, 1917 to keep a steady supply of coal to support military& industrial operations and use by consumers. The administration also included the setting& enforcing the prices of coal and cost of transportation. In 1918 Daylight Savings Time was adopted by the Fuel Administration to help conserve coal, which was needed by factories to produce war goods. There are some discolorations and some minor staining on the certificate but there are no holes. Creases, bends ... moreor tears. Its in pretty good shape for a 95 year old document and the corners are still pretty sharp.
