The Tektronix 2465ADV is a dual time base 4 channel 350 MHz oscilloscope with all options: 1 DMM. 5 TV sync, 9 CTT with WR(word recognition) and option 10 GPIB. CTT. Counter, timer, trigger is very useful option featuring automatic frequency counting up to 150 MHz, period measurement, enhanced delayed sweep control, event counting, etc. TV sync and DMM are also handy. The only option it doesn’t have is 11. Rear panel probe power and that’s because there is no rear panel space to accommodate it. The scope features the best of an analog signal path with digital control eliminating the dirty switch contacts that typically plague analog scopes. With the digital control. Tektronix TDS5054 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope 500 MHz This is a nice. Fully operational oscilloscope. Passes all power on/user initiated self tests. Also passes the signal path compensation routine(SPC) as often as initiated. Bandwidth on all 4 channels measures to well beyond 500 MHz. Minor blemishes are present. All typical for a bench scope properly cared for. The worste blemish is to the left of the blue Tektronix logo on the front panel nameplate.The display is perfect. This one has option 2M(8M Max/2M Ch) 2A(Advanced Analysis) and is at Windows 2000 w/Service Pack 3. This scope does not have the thermal printer or touch screen options(if there is an upside. This does improve the displays appearance) You will want to use at a minimum a mouse with it(included in the top compartment) I like the small form factor keyboards with touch ... morepad built in. All controls function as intended on and on… It’s a nice scope. For comparison. This scope would compete with aTDS3054x of any generation. This scope would have a larger foot print on the bench, a bit more noisy, but the acquisition system on this scope is vastly more powerful, and is analytically presentation wise far superior as well. This oscilloscope uses a windows based motherboard to supervise a separate PowerPC board that manages a separate acquisition board. ALL of the heavy lifting is accomplishes with the PowerPC/Acquisition board(oscilloscope side) So the windows board is not heavily burdened as an oscilloscope and can run unrelated applications. Some scopes of this era were so called closed boxes(windows board/acquisition board only) un-approved third party software would crash them and was not allowed; and the interface during calculations could become halting. Still relevant. This scope was advertised to have a waveform capture rate of 100,000 waveforms per second, the DPO/MDO4000 are said to be 50,000 wfps scopes. And as you can see this scope can do temperature and spectral grading, to visualize the details. It fully supports the old P6

Scope is in pretty decent condition. The high voltage supply for the CRT is in need of repair so it has been disconnected. I connected the VGA output on the back of this unit to my TV to perform tests and collect the above images. I have tested all 4 of the attenuators against the internal reference as well as the buttons on the control panel and it appears fully functional as long as it is attached to an external video source. You can also purchase a LCD kit to replace the outdated CRT assembly and have a self contained scope. Thanks for looking!
