Emco Compact 5PC CNC mini lathe
This is a used Emco compact 5PC CNC lathe. It was originally a school lathe. And it sat unused for several years. The controller board has been modified to use a modern machine controller software such as Mach3 or LinuxCNC. Everything else about the unit is original. I originally got it to do some small hobby work. But I've since decided that a manual lathe would suit my needs better. The unit comes with a Dell Pentium 4 PC with LinuxCNC already installed and configured for the lathe. The computer also has a pdf copy of the lathe manual on it. It has a 3-jaw chuck. A quick-change tool post with one tool holder, and a MT1 tail stock. I will also include a brand new 7-piece turning tool set with the following tools: RH facing tool. RH facing/turning tool. Levin Lathe with Micro drilling attachment and triple slide compound, excellent!
This Levin Lathe came out of the IBM R&D department(see tag attached on motor controller) It is a top of the line lathe with a nice array of accessories. The set of 41- 10 MM collets are an extra set I had and were not original to the lathe but are very high quality 10 mm collets marked from 3 different makers. 17 are Levin. The rest are marked Clement. Hardinge, a few are unmarked. There is also a nice assortment of 15- 8MM collets for use in the tailstock and Micro Drilling Attachment. There are also a 4 other 10mm accessory blanks and arbors. The headstock is of 3C configuration with the original Levin 3C to 10MM adaptor and proper Levin drawbars. A 3C blank arbor is also included which would work perfect to mount a 3 jaw chuck to. The tailstock is lever operated and takes 8mm collets and comes with the upgraded micrometer stop option. ... moreThe lathe is mounted on the original Levin bench and chip tray for excellent rigidly. The key to its precision. The lathe headstock is powered by its original variable speed controller mounted under the left hand side of the bench, as well as a foot operated on/off switch. The Micro drilling attachment is a beautiful piece of tooling that is used for drilling extremely tiny holes; please refer to the Levin website for a complete description of its operation. It has its own individual enclosed drive to power the drilling spindle that is equipped for variable speed operation. The controller has a forward and reverse switch and foot operated on/off switch. There is a power switch with hi/lo range but it appears it does not change between 2 ranges. Only has one range and I am not sure if is in the hi or low range, I am actually nor sure if it is supposed to have two ranges or Levin just used this switch on this controller? The potentiometer does adjust speed through its set range. At any rate, this accessory motor and accompanying overhead drive runs extremely smooth and quiet. Lastly. Central Machinery 9 x 20 geared head. Belt driven bench metal lathe. It has a 3/4" spindle bore, 9" swing over bed, and 20" between centers, overall bed length is about 28" Has a 3/4 hp 110v motor and runs nice. Spindle bearings were repacked with Lucas ren'n tacky#2 EP grease not long ago, and it has been kept oiled, NOT with cheap motor oil but with quality Mobil Vactra way oil and dte heavy/medium oils. The bed is heat treated and doesn't have any dings/dents or damage along its whole length. The machine is mounted on a very sturdy Waterloo bench. The top worm surface measures 23"x54"x1 1/4" it makes for a solid structure and lots of storage space with its 3 drawers. All drawers have ball bearing slides. Has forward and reverse, saddle has power feed and 9 speed gearbox. The bed has been hardened ... moreand ground for accuracy. Turning a piece of aluminum at 6.5" away from the chuck(no live center used only the chuck) it cuts.001" 002" taper and about.001" run-out. Overall well equiped for a machine this size. I've had it for about 4/5 years, used the machine for making prototype parts and just for general work. Selling because machine is no longer used. An A2Z CNC 4-bolt compound hold down it has been installed(Tuff nuts t-slot nuts were used also) and a A2Z CNC compound leadscrew bearing mount were installed. Also installed is an A2Z CNC Quick Change Tool Post, I am including 8x tool holders also. 1x boring bar, 1x parting and 6x turning/facing holders. A complete set of turning/facing indexable tools and included(see pictures) along with 3x HSS cut-off(all different widths) blades. An indexable boring bar and HSS boring bar, indexable Nikcole mini-systems cut-off/grooving tool and many different carbide inserts AND some HSS inserts for them are included. Clausing 6913 Lathe, 14" Swing, 48" CC, for parts or repair
The good news: Includes 8" 3 jaw chuck(mounted) 10" 4 jaw chuck, Drive plate(not pictured) Aloris BXA tool post, 1) BXA1, 1) BXA4, 1) cut off blade holder(no marking) New(Clausing) lower drive belt, used original lower drive belt(in useable condition) used upper drive belt in useable condition, ways all look good, 3hp, 220/440v, 3ph motor. The bad news: The variable speed drive is bad, all the typical Clausing problems. I have new bushing and drive keys from Clausing. The lower variable speed pulley keyway is cracked, will need repaired or replaced. The upper variable speed pulley just needs epoxy recoated. The brake discs are good. The clock spring in the speed adjust housing needs replaced, I rebent the end just to try the lathe out, the hydraulic cylinder was working, new parts are available also. I had this lathe running briefly ... morebefore disassembling it. Gearing for normal and back gear was ok, tried out some of the threading feeds and lifted the cover off the change gear box, everything looked ok. Original Clausing manual is included, very good parts views and adjustment details. Everything this lathe needs replaced is available from Clausing. Lots if alternative repair information on the internet. The brake/clutch arm bracket on the right side of the carriage apron is broken, the headstock arm is ok. Hardinge Cobra 42 CNC lathe w/ chuck, collets, and tooling
This machine is located in Forristell MO. I can not figure out how to get that changed in my listing. The only thing wrong with it is that the tool changer does not index. It was sold to me as a machine in working condition. But it was not. I replaced the spindle bearings and have broken them in. The spindle will need to be aligned by the buyer. The machine came to me without parameters. I have files for them, but do not have a computer that I am able to link to the control to load them. I entered all of the parameters manually, and I have been able to get all of the functions to work except the tool changer. The spindle turns on and off correctly, the parts catcher works and the machine will move in both handle and automatic mode. The tail stock ram also moves correctly. I sent the tool changer servo to be tested and it works properly. I ... morealso had a fanuc tech check out the drive and he said that it is working properly, so all of the hardware for the tool changer seems to be functional. This machine also includes a cabinet full of collets and a 6" chuck with some jaws. I would estimate that there are more than 100 collets and at least 20-30 collet stops. This machine has the collet nose built into the spindle and the draw bar screws directly into the back of the collet. No collet chuck or adapter is needed. All of the work holding will come in a cabinet that is included. There are also tool holders for each station on the turret and several turning tools of different types. I have all of the manuals, and both a hard copy and digital copy of all of the parameters from hardinge. If you have any questions please email me to set up a time for a phone call.
