This supply was designed by Astron and the unit is practically identical to the various Astron RS-35 models(based on a quick glance at the internals. And comments on various discussion groups) I've had this on my bench for a number of years and it's always served me well but I've replaced it with another Astron with current& voltage meters. Used Lambda 28 vdc power supply that I've been using as a bench supply to operate devices and circuits. Can be used to top off a battery. But not to bring up a dead battery as it has an over current protection circuit. Adjustable pots on the front to adjust voltage output, over current setting, and over voltage. LAMBDA 71 HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY 0-500 VDC MAIN 0-200VDC BIAS 6.3/13VAC
Lambda 71 high voltage power supply. All voltages tested good, DC volt meter is accurate, DC milliamperes meter is good but was not tested for accuracy, two tubes were replaced to bring this in to operating condition. The main voltage potentiometer operates smooth, the BIAS potentiometer will need replaced, the bias voltage jumps from low to high voltage and the pot appears to have a shorted winding, the pot is marked 20K ohm and is wire wound and possibly 7 watts, I do not have a schematic to verify, I have a good used 25K potentiometer that may work with some minor modification to the layout behind the front panel- no guarantee, the diameter and width of my 25K pot are a bit larger than the original, if the buyer wants it I will include it for free- just ask after purchase. Inside is a bit dusty/dirty- nothing real bad, the front panel ... morelooks good and all controls function except for the aforementioned BIAS pot, the metal cover shows some minor surface rust but no damage, the handle shows wear, this weighs just under 48 pounds and measures 15" by 9" by 13" tall before packaging. Nice Heathkit IP-2728 Power Supply 1-15 VDC, 0-500ma
This is a working used Heathkit IP-2828 power supply in good condition that can supply 1 to 15 DC and 0-500ma. I tested the unit varying the voltage from 1 to 15 volts and the current control from 0 to 500ma. And it worked as expected. The front panel has an on-off switch, a power light, controls for the voltage and current as well as binding posts for the output. The case measures approximately 4-1/8" high, 5-3/16" wide and 5-1/4" deep. It is currently wired for 120vac input, but it can be reconfigured for 240vac. Included is a copy of the schematic which is dated 1975. As seen in the pictures the case is in very nice condition.
