A VERY NICE BENCH POWER SUPPLY! The HP 6228B is a DUAL 0-50V. 0-1A bench power supply. Nice and simple, it also has a crowbar setting so that you absolutely can't exceed a preset output voltage. The two supplies can operate independently or the second one can track the output voltage of the first one. We kept this in our avionics shop, I don't think it has been used in 7 or 8 years. For auction is a used and seller refurbished HP 6299A DC power supply rated at 0-100VDC and 0-75A. The unit has been load tested and ripples measured. The current limiting potentiometer has both coarse and fine adjusts. As seen in the accompanying photos, the voltage could go up to 132VDC and current could reach 0.9A(although not both at the same time and I would not recommended using the power supply much above manufacturer's specs) Two defective electrolytic capacitors have been replaced. The ripple is below 2mV(see oscilloscope photo) The meter switch contacts have been cleaned and works well. HP 6448B variable DC Power Supply, 600V at 1.5A for repair
The photos show an output of 143V into a 500-ohm load. There is no change in voltage when the load is removed. Or when the AC is varied, so this unit is regulating. The problem is that the voltage cannot be adjusted above 143V. Included in this auction is an original service manual, in which are instructions for troubleshooting low voltage. I inspected the inside of the unit carefully and did not find, or smell, any burned or overheated components. Sold as is.

Showing some signs of wear. It powers up, and the fan comes on, and the display is bright and clear, and it responds to input from the buttons. However, I could not get it to put out any voltage. I was able to adjust the voltage, but every time I pressed the"Output On/Off" button, it looked like the voltage would start to rise, but then the"Prot" arrow on the display illuminated, and the voltage sank back to zero. The overvoltage proteciton is set for 8.800VDC, so I'm not sure what the problem it. This is the extent of my testing of this supply, and it ... moreis being sold as-is, for parts or repair.
