Vintage Industrial Factory Cast Iron Swivel Casters Bassick #477 Huge 3-1/2"
Four cast iron industrial Bassick casters acquired at an industrial salvage auction. The Bassick Caster Company manufactured casters in Bridgeport. CT and is no longer in existence. These casters are huge and from what I have learned, I believe they probably came from an industrial factory cart. The iron wheels measure 3-1/2" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. They all roll and swivel as they should. Each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently stamped on one end of the bases. There are other numbers in various places which are likely part numbers for other components. There is heavy patina/rust and minor visible wear to the wheels. They are also extremely dirty. ... moreI haven't done anything to them as I didn't know where to begin and didn't want to disturb the patina if that was going to be the desired finished product. These casters are in great condition but have a little bit of surface rust on the rims which you can see in the pictures. The mounting plate measures 3 5/8" X 2 9/16 X 3/32" thick. The wheels appear to have been used on a smooth concrete or tile surface as there is no holes or chunks missing from the wheels. The two wheels swivel with ball bearings and the other two are stationary. I tried to show any defects with the pictures and I have to comment on one of the bases are discolored but it no way affects the performance of the caster. They are actually pretty bright and shiney. The poly wheels measure 3-3/4" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. the over all hieght is just over 5 inches. Tread width is 1.5 inches while the wheel is about 3.75" diameter. If you need a better measurement, please ask. auction is for ALL FOUR casters as pictured They all roll and swivel as they should, each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently molded on one end of the base.

The overall height is about 7-1/4" Two of these four casters are swivel and the other two are non-swivel. They are all marked as"Faultless 1400-6 Made in USA" All of them have grease zerks with the swivel casters having two zerks. One for the wheel and one for the swivel mechanism. The top plates are made of 1/4" thick steel. The legs are made of 3/16" steel. They are zinc plated. 8" x 2" Heavy Duty Caster Set - 2 ea PLUS one swivel caster...set of three units
Here is a three piece set of heavy duty casters. The tread is aproximately 2" wide. And the wheel diameter is 8" The total height from floor to the top of the mounting plate is 9 1/4" The"tire" part of the caster is red plastic. Believed to be polyurethane, and the grey hub is a non-magnetic material of some kind. Each caster hub has grease fittings for lubrication. And the swivel style caster also has a grease fitting for the swivel ball bearing. The locking lever appears to be frozen or else too tight in adjustment on the swivel-style caster. Please check the images for greater detail. All three casters used together might make a nice"tricyle" type of cart that is easily steerable with the appropriate kind of balanced load.or just use the casters individually in your application.

Pair of 8" X 2" Heavy Duty Swivel GREASABLE Rubber Casters
Pair of solid rubber with cast centers. Set includes two swivel with a 4"x4.5" mounting pad. These casters are greasable with grease fittings for the wheel bearings and another for the swivel bearings as well. These are used so they will have bolt marks and some of the rubber may have some dents/small pieces chipped in the rubber but all still look very good.
