But here it is, a Techne DB-1200M block calibrator. I tested the unit by repeatedly setting temperatures, each higher than the last, and it hit every one on the dot, ramping up slowly as it approached the set point. The last setting I entered was 650 C, which is as high as the display would go. It reached about 630 C(about 1166 F—the block was cherry red) before it shut off the heat and turned on the cooling fan. After it had cooled for a minute or so, I turned the heat back on to see if it would heat again, and it did. I did some minor refurbishing of the unit, replacing the fuse block/plug, and I had to fashion a plate out of stainless steel ... moreto accept the non-matching aftermarket part. The exhaust fan is also new. Here is a clean looking Heathkit Oscillosope Calibrator Model IG 4505 Unit powers up but is not working. I was in the process of checking the output voltages when I accidentally shorted the test leads of my Digital meeter together. There is no longer voltage output since this accident. Before the accident the voltages coming from the unit were correct. I popped the top off the unit and inspected it. There is still 145 volts DC coming from the power supply after the filter caps. There is a toasty looking 2 watt resistor after this point where there is almost no voltage. The resistor may be bad. Or possibly a Zener Diode is shorted. Either way, I don't have time to mess with it, so here it is for you to fix. The case. Knobs, and AC power cable are in great shape.
