TDS820 TDS 820 2F Option 6GHz Sampling Scope Single Channel
If you've always wanted one of these 6GHz samplers but couldn't afford the high cost. This might be your best chance. I have to call it"for parts or not working" because it only has one of its two channels operational. But the single channel(CH1) seems to be fine and it does have the 2F option giving it waveform integration, differentiation, and FFT(see pictures) I was able to piece this together from TDS520 and TDS820 parts units, hence the front panel with the extra keys and graphics covered. If you are after the raw performance and not the aesthetics, this is for you. This has had the boards refurbished. The pesky surface mount electrolytic caps have been replaced with modern. The unit passes its turn-on self test as shown, but the deeper tests will fail with the bad sampler channel. However, I can see that the CH1 sampler is getting adjusted by running SPC. If you are not familiar with this model or with sampling scopes in general you should study some of Tek's documentation on Equivalent time sampling. Basically this thing does not run and capture unless there is a valid trigger and repetitive waveform. The trigger can be picked off either channel. The EXT IN, or an internal oscillator, and it will occur at the beginning of the sweep(plus 20ns) The channel input is 50 ohm only, and has a maximum amplitude of 200mV per division. Application of signal beyond +/6V peak is dangerous to the sampler front end. I would keep a 10dB SMA attenuator pad on the channel input all of the time and never take it off unless I have verified a low amplitude signal. It's also a good habit to touch and hold the scope chassis with one hand and then bring the cable to the channel input with the other. This way your one good channel will remain good for a long time. Tektronix 321 Oscilloscope w/ case, accessories, and manual
Up for auction is a used Tektronix 321 Oscilloscope with case. Accessories, and operators manuals. This is from my Father’s estate. I don’t know much about it. The unit powers up and gives a trace as shown in the photo. It has some cosmetic wear as seen in the photos. Everything that comes with it is shown in the photos. There were some“D” size rechargeable batteries in the battery compartment that had begun to leak. These were disposed of. There is no damage to the battery compartment. The contacts had minor corrosion that cleaned up ok, but left them with a little pitting. The carrying case has minor wear and staining from storage and age, but is complete and the latch works fine. There are test probes, power cables, two manuals, and some extra parts included. Again, I don’t know how to use it or know much about it.
