This auction is for two boxes of French lithography crayons dating. I think from the 1920's Art Deco period, although it could very well be earlier, I'm just not sure. The wording on the lids of the boxes read as follows: CRAYONS LITHOGRAPHIQUE"LEMERCIER" Seuls Fabricants ETABLts OGE& GAUGER Malakoff Seine. France Around the edges it reads CARRE SQUARE and No 2 on one of the boxes and No 3 on the other. I think this relates to the size of the crayons. Very good condition with one exception there is a crack one one side of the handle. Shown in pics, it's a clean break and could be repaired, handle still functions properly. There are a few letters in it. Can not detect maker's mark, there is a previous owner's inscription on tape dated 1922. 4.25" x 7.25" x 3" w/ handle down 6.5" w/ handle up. Excellent Antique Carved Wood Printer's Block. Wonderful original printing block of a hand with it's finger pointing to the right& when printed to the left an excellent. Classic bold graphic image& a good decorative design. please see pics. Original uncleaned antique finish& exactly as acquired. please see pics. Excellent for printing vintage posters. Cards, notices& the like, with a good early"wood block" style but equally good for display with it's bold sculptural quality. please see pics. 3.5 inches long x 1.85 inches tall(9cm long x 4.5cm tall) ANTIQUE& USED CONDITION Totally original& fresh to the market. Exactly as found with no restoration. please see pics. An old. Used& pre-owned"working antique" with some light. Minor marks& wear, as you would expect. please see pics. ... moreSome rubbing& visible ink marks to the carved design, with some visible ink remnants& stains to the entire block, through years& years of use but uncleaned. Unpolished& as found, with a good. Genuine vintage look as seen in the photographs provided. please see pics. The block is angle cut to the rough shape of the"hand" with an unfinished surface to the side sections, but as used& intended& from an old printer's tray of letters, so a genuine. Graphic block with signs of use. please see pics. Slight shard to the reverse edge. But minor& all part of it's history, obviously unseen when displayed. please see pics. We have for auction an Ellams of Cheapside London rotary duplicating machine. Comes in metal case. Rotary drum does turn. Handle operated. I know very little about these items so please therefore do view photos as this forms part of the description. Stands at an overall height of approx. 15.5 inches Width approx. 16.5 inches length approx. 14 inches. Box is rusty All original condition. This is an extremely heavy item hence postage.
