TV-7D/U Tube tester in a TV-7 outer metal case. Name plate is missing. The manual and manual supplement looks old and appears to be original. The TV-7 schematic is in pieces. So I put a piece of masking tape on it for now. The innards show you that the guts are TV-7D/U. The meter also says TV-7D/U. It has one extra"F" range not found in non-D TV-7 testers. Made in 1965. It passes line test. I have two more images showing the tube tester testing a 12AX7 and an EF86(12AX7 and EF86 not included) Last calibrated about 12 years ago so I cannot guarantee the accuracy anymore. Western Electric KS-15560-L1 Tube Tester Hickok 539 Slightly Used
This is a Western Electric model KS-15560-L1 tube tester. This is made by Hickok for Western Electric. It is similar to the Hickok model 539. This has been in storage for many years. It is in like new condition with very little use. I have tried testing some tubes on this and it seems to be in good operating condition. The handle has a chip by the hinge and that hinge is loose on the case. One of the cover latches will not latch. There is some very small dings and scratches on cover. The roll chart will not roll to upper and lower ends. This can be easily fixed be removing it and re-rolling it. This is the nicest one of these tube testers that I have ever seen. Most show signs of use. I do not have the manual or any paperwork for this.

I plugged it in and the meter indicator needle moved to the center position. I pressed the test button and the needle went all the way left to the BAD position. It looks like someone added battery power to it. If you look to the left you will see what i am saying. Down in the that compartment were 3 Rayovac D"leak proof" batteres. AND THEY DID NOT LEAK. Hickok 534B tube tester. Can be used for parts or restoration. I started on this but do not have the time to continue right now. I also have a working meter for this which will be sold separately, I can also include a roll chart from a 532, and included in the auction is a bunch of roll charts that came with it, as well as a new manual. This would make a nice mutual conductance tube tester with built in voltmeter, I do know from preliminary work on this that a number of the spool resistors are open and need replacement as well as a 10 watt 8600 power resistor. Tube Tester Seco Model 78
Up for auction is another piece of vintage electronics from my shack. Very good cosmetic condition and the tester works as it is supposed to. The SECO Model 78 Grid Circuit and Tube Merit tester is a very compact and highly accurate tube tester designed primarily for the television technician. Its test coverage includes the majority of heater type radio tubes as well as filament rectifiers. Three basic tests are available. Each in turn applies the desired data to a special two stage DC amplifier. The amplified signal voltage which is either D.C. or rectified signal voltage is fed to the meter through the proper amplifier input. These three tests are namely: 1. Grid Circuit and shorts test; 2. Merit test; and 3. Filament continuity. The Grid Circuit and selected leakage and shorts test employs the Seco developed and patented"D.C. testing ... moreprocedure" for detecting"hard-to-find" faults such as grid emission, small leakage and shorts. Low test voltages(4.5- 50 VDC) are selected to minimize danger of damage to a good tube. If the tube is free of the above undesired faults, the meter pointer will deflect into the good area on the left of the meter are. The Tube Merit Test is accomplished by feeding a low test voltage of 22 volts through a suitable limiting resistance to the cathode and the plate or grids. This constitutes an emission quality test. The tube under test is always isolated from the actual meter circuit. The circuit employed in the Model 78 makes available an unusually wide choice of test conditions as well as safeguarding against meter damage. A good tube will cause the meter pointer to read in the"good area" on the right of the meter are. Working VGC 1959 Model FC-2 Century Fast - Check Tube Tester with Booklets
Up for sale is a Century model FC-2 fast test tube tester made by Mercury in Mineola. NY, USA in 1959. As you can see in the picture, I tested a 5U4 and the meter registered all the way into the green. I also tested several 12AX7s and some 6V6s. All tested as they should. The unit has all the original booklets and I am including a Radioshack tube substitution book that came with the tester. Besides working properly, the outside oak case is near immaculate and still has its little rubber feet on the back side. This is a very clean unit. The tester also has the picture tube tester. Which is the extra cable laying on the metal plate. I did not have a CRT to test, but I assume it works fine. The settings for CRTs are in the back of the tube chart.

The plastic rim around the top cap is broken- it will still plug on and make connection fine. There is some damage where the electrical cord(that plugs into the wall) comes out of the testing unit, the rubbery coating around that is loose. This unit measures 11" x 8.5" and is 4.5" deep(when all closed up) The case shows wear. The snap closure works perfect and keeps the unit secure. The hinges on the back are in great shape as well as the 4 metal feet on the back of the case. The setup chart manual is 50 pages, it is very worn, the cover and back have seperated. It has a beautiful hardwood case(appears to be oak or birch) with finger-joint construction. Eight rubber feet protect your desktop in both the working position and the standup position. Internally, the tester uses a large beefy transformer and quality Pace(Precision Apparatus) meter movement. Up for auction is this great Hickok 600A Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. It is overall in great condition with only light scratching on the top cover as shown. The front face with the controls is in great condition. All of the knobs are in place and the roll chart works good too. As for the working condition. I am not sure but it plugged it in and could get a reading with the line adjustment although the meter movement sticks some. I did not attempt to test any tubes but I'm sure with some TLC this could be made into a great tester for you. Precision Model 912 Tube Tester This is an old Tube Tester that I believe was first manufactured in the late 1940’s by the Precision Apparatus Co. Elmhurst. New York. The case is in good physical condition with just the normal scuffs and scrapes for a 60 year old unit. When the unit is powered on. The meter moves from the red zone to the yellow zone(See pictures) but that is all I can tell about the working condition of the unit. It'll test those older 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin, and even 7-pin tubes, as well as the later 8-pin Octal, 8-pin Loctal and the 7-pin and 9-pin miniatures. It also has sockets for both 5-pin and 7-pin Nuvistors, 9-pin Novar tubes and 12-pin Compactrons. The 9-pin miniature socket has an additional center pin to also accept 10-pin miniature tubes. The test circuit of the IT-21 is identical to Heath's later models IT-17 and IT-3117, and the earlier"TC" models, and the test data for these testers is also usable with the IT-21. good working vintage U-TEST-EM stationary floor model electron tube tester
SquareTrade © AP6.0 1960 vintage U-Test-Em model 1901 stationary tube tester. 58 1/2" tall x 21" wide x 20" front to back. Sheet metal cabinet has locking door on the bottom with slide out tray shelves. There are 5 tray slots but only 2 trays. Cabinet is in fair cosmetic condition but equipment appears to be good working. Glass insert on the cabinet base door is cracked. Glass panel with advertising is missing from the overhead light section. Some minor surface rust and wear and on the cabinet. For testing Efficiency. Plug the tube into the correct socket and allow 30 seconds to warm up. Meter should read at the chart indicated value or higher. I tested several tubes and the values appear reasonable. I have a brand new 6U7 tube which shows a value of 50 on the cabinet chart and the meter tests at 55. I have a used 6K7 ... morewhich should test at 50 but only registers 40. Shorts or gas leaks should light up on the panel but none of the tubes I tested appear to be faulty in that respect. There is a toggle power switch mounted on the panel, however, the only way to turn off the overhead light is to unplug the unit. Pretty neat and usable unit. For local pick up here in York, PA 17406.
