The MPS series allows very high voltage. Fast rising pulses to be obtained from a compact bench top unit. This pulser has applications in many fields such as high speed camera research, electro-optic switching, triggering systems and radar. There is very little jitter in the output of the pulsers and two independent pulsers can be used in parallel to drive low impedances. This aspect makes the pulsers particularly useful for driving microchannel plate systems. This pulser can feed into a short circuit load without damage. This allows it to be used in sub-nanosecond pulse chopping systems by feeding through a pockels cell into a shorting stub. This unit requires AC power and a trigger ... moresignal to operate. The trigger signal. Which is applied to the trigger input(BNC) should be approximately 10 V with a fast rising edge( When triggered. The"triggered" light on the front panel will flash. This is a Grant Applied Physics/Kentech Instruments Modular Pulse Source(MPS) Pulser. The MPS series allows very high voltage. Fast rising pulses to be obtained from a compact bench top unit. This pulser has applications in many fields such as high speed camera research, electro-optic switching, triggering systems and radar. There is very little jitter in the output of the pulsers and two independent pulsers can be used in parallel to drive low impedances. This aspect makes the pulsers particularly useful for driving microchannel plate systems. This pulser can feed into a short circuit load without damage. This allows it to be used in sub-nanosecond pulse chopping systems by feeding through a pockels cell into a shorting stub. This unit requires AC power and a trigger signal to operate. FOR SALE: HP-8010A Dual Channel Pulse Generator This pulse generator is in working condition that still requires a bit of work to make it 100% functional. It is a HP analog pulse generator that uses switches and control pots to select the pulse characteristics. I had cleaned and lubricated all the controls. Verified the power supply voltages, and identified what I believe the couple of issues that still remain. It may be used in the AS-IS condition depending on the personal use required of your Pulse Generator. As mentioned in the condition description above. The channel"B" Pulse Delay control pot is only partially functional having some dead or bad spots on the pot. This seems to limit it from being able to go above 4~5 MHz in pulse frequency and to get the exact or precise pulse condition in the lower frequencies. It does function ... moreas you can tell from the photos though. The other issue. Which to me seems much more minor, is that the"A" channel Transition Time control switch seems to have a bad or dirty spot that does not allow the 1u function position to operate. It reverts back to the 1ns transition time in that position. Not sure if this would be that big of a deal since you may be able to"slide" to the transition time that you want by setting the range above or below this setting. Also, I would rather have it defective going to the fully fastest rise/fall time than any other position. As is with most older analog equipment. Sometimes you may need to move the controls a bit to find the steady"sweet-spot" required for the correct stable position for what you are looking for. All the boards seem to be functioning as they are supposed to, so maybe with a couple of replaced controls you could have a fully quality functioning HP-8010A Pulse Generator. The over-all physical condition seems to be in decent shape with nothing more than the normal wear and tear seen on equipment of this vintage. The photos above show the front and back of the unit.
