At low frequencies this can be ignored. But at only 100 Mhz, a passive probe looks like a 400 ohm reactive load to your circuit! It only gets worse as the measurement frequency increases. An active probe eliminates this problem and allows you to probe the circuit without loading it down. The 1103 power supply will power several Tektronix probes.
