Used Agilent E4437B ESG-DP signal generator for sale
I have an Agilent E4437B ESG-DP signal generator for sale. It has been used in the lab for my company for several years for testing of RF parts. It has been maintained regularly to meet the strict requirements for our lab. In the latest calibration for this signal generator however. It has not met the required phase noise level which is why it is being sold now. This is the only flaw with the signal generator as far I know. It is in a good condition for experimental use or for applications that do not require very low phase noise level.

I don't know much about this other than that it turns on and powers up just fine. It passes it's self test. As pictured. I tried repeatedly to get a picture that shows that it passes the item"serial interface" but it switches over to the main screen so fast after that, so I couldn't get the picture. But it does pass that part- whatever it is. Doesn't have any test leads or whatever. Got it in a storage unit auction with a bunch of confusing electronics test equipment. Frequency Range = 2 to 18.5GHz(1KHz steps to 6.2GHZ. 2KHz steps 6.2 to 12.4GHZ, and 3KHz steps 12.4 to 18.5GHz) Output level is fully adjustable-120dBm to + 10dBm over this entire range. This unit has outstanding Phase noise and easily exceeds its specifications. At 10GHz I measured-112dBc/Hz@ 100KHz(spec is-104) 92.5dBc/Hz@ 10KHz(spec is-80) and-82.3dBc/Hz@ 1KHz(spec is-72) See the pics below. This is a late production unit in outstanding condition. It has clearly seen very little use. The inside is spotless and looks absolutely brand new. The fan runs very quiet. I have worked on many of these units and know what to look for and how to evaluate these. This one has been very thoroughly checked out and I guarantee that you will be very pleased with it. Spectrum analyzer is on a slow sweep and I turn the generator output down and back up in 10dB steps. I have worked on lots of these signal generators and many of them have intermittently high phase noise. In the test below the spectrum analyzer is on max hold and was left for about 15 mins. You can see the max hold trace is only slightly above the standard trace. Any intermittently high phase noise would be very obvious. Up for auction today is an Agilent 33220A Arbitrary Waveform Generator. This unit powers on and the display and buttons appear to be functioning correctly. This unit is being sold for parts AS IS. Because we cannot get any output signal. The unit will also freeze randomly, and the display/buttons stop working. We do not have the equipment or expertise to test this unit further. There are some minor scratches and scuffs from previous use. And there is a small piece of plastic from the handle that is broken off and we can hear it rattling loosely inside the unit.
