Passed self-test, and passed the check out procedure in the manual(open circuit and closed circuit test) HPIB communication was tested by connecting the power supply to a Windows computer running VEE Pro 6.0. The computer via HPIB was able to communicate with the PS. A set point of 6 V was sent to the power supply, and the power supply meter noted 6V on the screen. ISSUES: 1) The front plastic cover of the unit is cracked on the right side. One has to be careful removing the test leads. 2) The manufacture and model number is missing from the front cover. Used Heath 2718 tri-power supply. Purchased from electrical engineer's estate that had a shop/lab of test equipment used for his projects. He looked very meticulous and therefore would assume working just fine. Only testing performed was rotating"meter" knob. When rotated between 3 output jack connections the meter moves to different spots on the gage. No further testing performed. Right of return for 14 days for serial number I-90. Left side supply was tested at 20V@ 6A and WAS working. Then as I approached 40V@ 3A I heard a single click inside the 6205B, now the whole left side supply is not working. The same thing happened on the Right side supply test except I did not hear a click. Now the Right side supplies output is stuck at 38V on the 20V scale and and stuck at 59V on the 40V scale.
