Vintage Set 4 Heavy Duty Industrial Bassick 6" Cast Iron Casters Swivel Plate
Here is a great set of industrial. Very heavy duty application, cast iron casters. The wheels themselves are cast iron, 6" in diameter, and 2" wide. They are each mounted on a swivel plate, the plate measures 5 1/2" x 5" Each caster stands about 7 1/2" in height. I can see Bassick 6 on each caster, and it also looks like the number 8261 is imprinted on the wheels. These casters are definitely for a heavy duty application. Each caster weighs 11 lbs. As can be seen in the pictures, there are scratches in the gold finish on each caster, all in the same places, but this, in no ways, impacts the function of these casters. There is also a bit of rust in some areas, but once again there is no impact on performance. All of the casters move freely on the attached swivel plates. Vintage Industrial Factory Cast Iron Swivel Casters Bassick #477 Huge 3-1/2"
Four cast iron industrial Bassick casters acquired at an industrial salvage auction. The Bassick Caster Company manufactured casters in Bridgeport. CT and is no longer in existence. These casters are huge and from what I have learned, I believe they probably came from an industrial factory cart. The iron wheels measure 3-1/2" in diameter and each caster weighs well over 6 pounds. They all roll and swivel as they should. Each has a grease fitting and the ball bearings can be seen under the edge of their enclosures. They are marked in more than one place with the manufacturer's name; and the part#477 is prominently stamped on one end of the bases. There are other numbers in various places which are likely part numbers for other components. There is heavy patina/rust and minor visible wear to the wheels. These four caster are off of an old auto mechanics creeper. This auction is for the four casters and the 16 original screws that held the on. The creeper is NOT included. The wheels each have the words'Roll-Over Rollers' on them. They are rusty but operational. No breaks, cracks or repairs. Roll smoothly. This will mount at the bottom of a table or chair leg. A hole is drill in the end of the leg and the metal sleeve is inserted. Thats what holds the caters to the leg. All four sleeves are included. The wheels are about 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Each caster has an identification plate which reads" SERVICE CASTER ALBION MICHIGAN NO. 7104( The hard rubber wheels are about 4 inches in diameter and about 2 inches wide. Each wheel has molded into the sidewall"THE SERVICE CASTER AND TRUCK CO. ALBION MICH. These casters are heavy duty with an axle diameter of about 1/2 inch and the mounting plate 3/8 inch thick steel. 4 Large Vintage Colson Industrial Cast Iron Wheel Casters w/Grease Fittings
For your consideration we have 4 vintage Colson 4" wheel casters. Model# 5-4-138. 2 swivel and the other two have been soldered to remain stationary. They all have grease fittings. But one is missing the actual fitting. The base they're attached to measures 4" x 4 1/2" They are about 5 1/2" high and the wheels are 4" by 2" These are very heavy duty with a combined weight of about 28 lbs. This is for the casters you see here. Not positive how old these are. Confident they are very old. Just not sure exactly how old. Heavy. In good condition, as you can see. Could stand to be cleaned. They are just as I found them. The wheels are approximately 3" diameter. The bases are 4.5" long x 2.75" wide at the widest. You can see"M 7" on the bottom of each one. Not sure what it is. The bases may be cast iron. Wheels are steel. THESE ARE NICE! Please look close and be sure to ask whatever questions you may have.

All the wheels turn freely and three of them swivel freely.one has a tight spot-may just need oiled.
