This is used to test, troubleshoot and align the MTS(Multichannel TV Sound) system and MTS decoders in stereo televisions. It can also be used to test and align FM stereo radios. The unit has a built-in video pattern generator and an MTS stereo generator for signal injection into the different stages for testing and aligning. Up for auction is a B&K Model 1076 Television Analyst. It belonged to my grandfather who was a television/ radio repairman in the 50's and 60's. It was stored inside the house in his work shop. I plugged the unit in and when powered on the red indicator light on the front panel powered up as seen in the photos. While powered up. I lifted the top cover and various tubes where lit and showed power as seen in the photos. There is a CRT type tube inside which is purple/blue in color when unit is on. I remember my grandfather using this unit all the time in his work and taking good care of it. For its age. The unit is in great condition. Videotek DM141A RF- A/V Demodulator/TV Tuner for Cable coaxial/Atari/Coleco/C64
This auction is for a Videotek 141A demodulator. It works fine and shows good video and audio. It has two BNC-based video outputs and stereo audio outputs using XLR type connectors. The Videotek 141A demodulator can be used as an analog tuner which includes demodulation of channel 2/3/4 of old retro computer or gaming consoles. It takes a RF input from VCR/Atari 400/800/2600/Pong C140/etc. systems and gives a clear audio/video output on the TV. It allows setting of channel and selecting the various types of signals- TV/Cable/etc. This will convert the RF signal from an Atari 2600. 5200, 400, 800, XL, XE, VCR, Commodore 64, C-140 Atari Pong, etc. to separate audio and composite video for hooking up to modern TVs that take A/V input. This is a bigger and heavier unit than previous units we have sold like the Pico due to having a lot more features ... morelike"fine tune" for adjusting channel frequency, internal speaker with audio volume adjustment, AFT on/off, stereo/mono selection, etc. Note that the connectors are BNC for video outputs and XLR type for audio output and input is a coaxial type connector so they require the appropriate adapter(s) to convert RCA type connectors to these. But these are available for less than a buck each. Given the wipe out of analog RF channel decoding on many modern LCD TVs, you can add this demodulator to that modern TV to allow for decoding the analog RF signals into the A/V component signals which modern LCD TVs do support. See my other auctions for other demodulators including a cheaper 232-MTA model. Pico/TW demodulators seem to be of higher quality than the 232-MTA models. This auction is for the Videotek Demodulator which has a lot more adjustments to fiddle around with to get your video just right and also has an internal speaker so you don't have to hook up the audio using XLR connectors if you can live with the quality of its internal speaker.
