Ex REME surplus stock that seems to have spent it's life in stores as it is in excellent condition as far as I can tell! The paint is in excellent condition with only a few very minor scuffs and a couple of light scratches- one to the side and two underneath. The pvc casing is in excellent condition and has its' strap and the little screwdriver in the case lid. The unit comes in the original cardboard storage box with MOD label and a date of 1986 on what appears to be the release label. Also included are the instruction booklet, instruction sheet and REME maintenance document. I have not and cannot test this unit- I have no radioactive sources even if I followed the booklet! It was sold to my Father as being in working order but that ... morewas 27 years ago or so, has been dry stored in our loft ever since. As far as I know it should work but the internal batteries may need attention- to my knowledge there is no corrosion from them. There are 2 D-cells in the cardboard box, not fitted in the machine. Unit is in good cosmetic condition with a few minor use and wear marks. The unit was not fully tested however given a detailed inspection. I installed a set of batteries in the unit and it appears to be working. The clip on the left side of the unit is broken. This clip keeps the unit closed. We pulled out the meter and opened it up, there are batteries still inside it and it looks like maybe some leakage on the bottom of the casing. The styrofoam cut out on the meter seems to be stuck on the meter, so we do not know which model this is. There are two wands and possibly other items that are in the case. We are selling this as is for parts/repair. The foam is sticking to everything and therefore we did not attempt to try and clean it, it tends to stick to everything when we do.
