It will be sold in parts/repair condition. We powered the unit on very briefly. It did power on. And it instantly began making a static/rustling sound. We then turned the unit off. Scuffs, small areas of chipped paint, etc. all over the device. The front face plate is still in fairly good condition. All knobs and buttons appear to be present. The manual is in pretty rough shape. Many of the rings are broken. It still looks to be complete though. Service Monitor, This is from a Surplus lot, I am not a Ham radio operator but had someone who is help check this thing out, first off it does work but it will stop Receiving after about 1/2hr to 3 hrs or so, it will Generate and the spectrum analyizer works till the Receive part just stops then it just shows noise on the spectrum, I am told the"VCO" stops working intermit, the scope and CRT works, the trace is bright and well focused and stable, I am also told that the Antenna input was swapped to the bottom connector prob because it broke off, it will pickup on both antenna or if you push the selector for the RF in/out power input, we tried a CB radio into the RF in/out connector and it did read power output and other things properly, this Cabinet is all beat up and missing some ... morerear feet, so this whole thing is sold as is for parts or repair, please know what you are bidding on, I was told the CRT is worth it as those are hard to find, the unit could be an easy fix or could be a basket case, I do not know, I dialed up a radio station the other day and just listened and it played all day, they yesterday it stopped after 30 mins, then will work again if you power down for a few mins then back on. The accuracy seems good but it hasn't been calibrated.The crystal reference oscillator oven works fine. The generator is used with the broadband mixer for"receiving" from 20 to 10000MHz. Everything works fine except for the lowest 1.5 KHz frequency centering range. I believe that it's probably a dirty adjustment pot for this range. The CE-5 manual shows a pot for each of the three ranges. I didn't attempt to fix this. This works great for checking the sensitivity of receivers. Note the generator needs an external 40dB attenuator(not supplied) ... morefor testing sensitivity in the low microvolt range. I don't have a manual for the CE-6 but the manual for the CE-5 which is fairly similar can be downloaded from the BAMA site. I'll include a model 313 AM monitor module which I couldn't test. Th length of this module is shorter than the FM monitor and scope(see picture) It apparently needs a plug extension or cable(I'm really not famaliar with these units) The overall cosmetic condition is"good" the panels are very good. The cabinet has quite a few scuffs and scratches but nothing serious. A few of the controls are a bit noisy. This is a basic service monitor but it does everything you need(including PL deviation) for checking commercial and ham transceivers. Marconi 2955A Radio Communication Test Set with IEEE-488 interface option. As you can see in the photos. It passes all self tests. I really don't know much about these, as I'm an IFR guy(but this is an IFR labeled unit) This was purchased out of a factory calibration lab storage area as surplus. The face does have some marks from old cal stickers and such, but overall seems to be in good condition. It does have the IEEE-488 interface. I don't know about any other options.
